49. RESULTS OF THE DASAS

श्रुताश्च बहुधा भेदा दशानां च मया मुने ! ।
फलं च कीदृशं तासां कृपया मे तदुच्यताम्‌ ? ॥ १ ॥

1: Maitreya said; O Venerable Said ! I am enlightened with the various types of Dasas. Kindly apprise me with the nature of their results.

साधारणं विशिष्टञ्च दशानां द्विविधं फलम्‌ ।
ग्रहाणां च स्वभावेन स्थानस्थितिवशेन च ॥ २ ॥

2: Sage Parasara said : O Vipra! Dasas emanate two types of results, one of general nature and two, of pronounced nature which corresponds to the natural characteristics and acquired position (in the horoscope) of the planets.

ग्रहवीर्यानुसारेण फलं ज्ञेयं दशासु च ।
आद्यद्रेष्काणगे खेटे दशारम्भे फलं वदेत्‌ ॥ ३ ॥

दशामध्ये फलं वाच्यं मध्यद्रेष्काणगे खगे ।
अन्ते फलं तृतीयस्थे व्यस्तं खेटे च वक्रगे ॥ ४ ॥

3-4: The results of the Dasas of the planets be ascertained on the basis of the strength of the planets. The planet in the first Drekkana, gives resuits in the beginning of the Dasa, in the second Drekkana, in the middle of the Dasa and in the third Drekkana, in the concluding part of the Dasa. The results of the retrograde planets be considered in the reverse order.

दशारम्भे दशाधीशे लग्नगे शुभदृग्युतते ।
स्वोच्चे स्वभे स्वमैत्रे वा शुभं तस्य दशाफलम्‌ ॥ ५ ॥

षष्ठाऽष्टमव्ययस्थे च नीचास्तरिपुभस्थिते ।
अशुभं तत्फलं चाऽथ ब्रुवे सर्वदशाफलम्‌ ॥ ६ ॥

5-6: In the event of the lord of the Dasa being in the Ascendant, having benefic aspects, conjunct with the benefic planets, exalted, in own sign or in the friendly sign, favourable results will be feltinthe beginning of the Dasa. If the planetis posited in the 6th, 8th or 12th house, debilitated, in inimical sign or combust, the result will be unfavourable. Now I narrate the results of the Dasas.

i)The transit of the lord of Mahadasa (main period) on a particular sign, renders specific effects on the house of such sign.

ii)The house aspected by its lord, promises favourable results during the Mahadasa of the said planet.

ili)very planet during the currency of the first half of its Mahadasa gives result of the house next to the Ascendant and in the 2nd half, the result of the house 2nd from the Ascendant will be prominent.

iv)The 4th Mahadasa from birth, if happened to be of Saturn or the 6th of Jupiter or the 5th Mahadasa of Rahu or Mars, these Dasas become unfavourable, despite the fact, the planet is benefic or Yogkaraka.

v)Venus posited in the 12th house promises good results in its Mahadasa, even though aspected by or conjunct with the maletics

vi)The Mahadasa of the most powerful planet being in the highest point of exaltation at the time of birth is considered ‘par-excellence’ and surges magnificient results viz, accretion of wealth, sound health, splendid comforts etc.

vii)The Dasa of the Planet moving toward its exaltation point, is called 'Ahrohini' Dasa. This Dasa is auspicious and springs happiness. In case, planetheads towards dabilitation or acquires inimical Navamsa, the Dasa of such planet will be inauspicious and will mitigatas the benefic results.

viii)The Dasa of aplanet after attainment of the exaltation point moves towards debilitation, is called ‘Avrohini' Dasa. This Dasabrings unhappy events. If this planet is posited in own, friendly or exaltation sign, the effect of the Dasa is of mediocre nature.

ix)The planet acquires strength in Shada Bala if located in the exaltation sign, and the Dasa of such planet is called ‘Poorna’ Dasa. During the currency of this Dasa, the native is betowed with wealth and status.

x)The planet which is weak at birth and placedin the debilitation sign, the Dasa of such planet is termed as ‘Rikta’ Dasa (defunct). The native faces losses during this Dasa.

xi)The Dasa of a planet which is placed at the lowest point of debilitation or in the enemy's Navamsa, of in the inimical sign, is called as ‘Arishta’ Dasa (period of misfortune). Inthis Dasa, loss of wealth, comforts and health be anticipated.

xii)The planet posited in exaltation, own or friendly sign at the time of birth but has gone in inimical sign or in sign of debilitation in the Navamsa, the Dasa of such planet will render favourable results in the second half and mixed results in the first half. This Dasa is known as ‘Mishrita’ (mixed) Dasa.

xiii)At the time of birth, if any planet is In the inimical or debilitated sign and acquires the same Navamsa, the Dasa of such planet is called "Kashta" Dasa. In this Dasa the native suffers loss of wealth and loses his health.

xiv)The Dasa of a planet which at the time of birth is in the friendly, own or exaltation on Mooltrikona signs or Vargas, is called ‘Shubha’Dasa. In this Dasa, excellent results could be expected.

xv)The Avrohini Dasa ushers most inauspicious and unfavourable results when Dasa lordis positedin an inimical or debilitation sign or in the Navamsa of the same signs.

xvi)The Dasa of the planet which is found in retrogaression at the time of birth, results in demotion, humiliation, disgrace obstacles, failures and loss of happiness.

xvii)The Dasa of a planet having longitude equivalent to the longitude of the house (Bhava-Madhya) renders favourable results.

xviii)The planet's Dasa with high benafic lines In Ashtaka Varga is also favourable.

xix)The Dasa of a planetif powerful in the Shada Bala, signifies favourable events.

xx)The planet in the last degree of the sign (Rashi-Anta) produces unfavourable results during its Dasa.

xxi)If the tongitude of a planet falis at the junction of the two houses (Bhava-Sandhi), the result of the Dasa of such a planet is considered not good.

xxii)The Dasa of a planet which acquires loss number of benetic lines in Ashtakavarga also produces unfavourable results.

xxiii)The lord of the sign having 'Mandi' in it, does not give good results during its Dasa.

xxiv)There are four most important ‘Balas’(strength) of planet. These are Sthana, Chesta, Kala and Driga Balas. If aplanet acquires strength through all these four Balas, is only then considered powerful and in the abscence of adequate strength contributed by these tour Balas, the planet is rendered weak. If a planet armed with the strength from these four ‘Balas’and positedin the fifth house, it wil acquire the potentiality of producing par excellent (Sumpoorna) results. If it has power i) from three Balas, three fourth, ii) from two Balas, one half and iii) one Bala, one fourth of the "Sumpoorna" results could be predicted.

मूलत्रिकोणे स्वक्षेत्रे स्वोच्चे वा परमोच्चगे ।
केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभस्थे भाग्यकर्माधिपैर्युते ॥ ७ ॥

सूर्ये बलसमायुक्ते निजवर्गबलैर्युते ।
तस्मिन्दाये महत्‌ सोख्यं धनलाभादिकं शुभम्‌ ॥ ८ ॥

अत्यन्तं राजसन्मानमश्वांदोल्यादिकं शुभम्‌ ।
सुत्ताधिपसमायुक्ते पुत्रलाभं च विन्दति ॥ ९ ॥

धनेशस्य च सम्बन्धे गजान्तैश्वर्यमादिशेत्‌ ।
वाहनाधिपसम्बन्धे वाहनत्रयलाभकृत्‌ ॥ १०॥

नृपालतुष्टिर्वित्ताढ्यः सेनाधीशः सुखी मरः ।
बलवाहनलाभश्च दशायां बलिनो रवेः ॥ ११ ॥

7-11; At the time of birth, the Sun if, posited in the Mooiatrikona, own or exalted sign and occupies Angles (Kendras), Trines (Trikonas) or 11th house and conjunct with the lords of 9th or 10th house and also powerful and in his own Vargas (Divisions), during the Dasa of the Sun the native acquires lots of comforts and happiness. This Dasa is also favourable for the gain of wealth and profit earning activities. This ushers the time during which high status (position) is conferred by the king (Governmentauthorities/ employer), acquisition of conveyance etc. Ifthe Sunis conjunct with the lord of the Sth house, birth of son; with 11th lord, comtorts of elephant (costly vehicles); with 4th lord, gain of three vehicles, wealth, ministership with the blessing of the king (authorities) etc. are attained. In the Dasa of the strong Sun, the native acquires power (authorily), conveyance etc.

The Sun is a vehicle of energy andit radiates intensa power in life. To instil confidence, purity of mind, pride, bodily energy, high attainments etc., are some of the natural charateristies of the Sun. Consequently, the native observes, the following effects during the operation of the Mahadasa of the Sun:

i)The disappointments get over, confidence gets infused, purity of thoughts springs up.

ii)Native gets energetic and exalted.

iii)The native may not have a mind to influence the other Person, but the person automatically gets impressed.

iv)Emergence of royal feelings and native do gat the blessings of the authorities (king) in some form or the other.

v)During the Mahadasa of the Sun, the native would like to undertake assignments, jobs, ventures etc; of large dimensions.

vi)Native acquires sound health.

In the other Astrological works Propounded by great Sages orthe Savant of Astrology dipict similarkind of results in the Mahadasa of the Sun as contained in Birhat Parasara Hora Sastra, Kalidasa in his Uttarakalamrit observed, as follows :

“In the Sun's Dasa, if the Sun be auspicious to the native, it will give children, intellegence, wisdom, high status and power, knowledge, wealth, fame, valour, happiness and divine favour in its Dasa’’.

The version of 'Phala Deepika’ in this respect is as follows

“If the Sun is auspicious, native will accumulate wealth through his proficiency, through travels, kings and battles (disputes). The native wanders in jungles and mountains, attains fame and becomes industrious, the native develops sharpness in his nature and in his work and also gains Success, comforts etc.”.

Savant Kalyana Varma in his Saravali records the following effects of Sun's Mahadasa :

“In the auspicious Mahadasa of the Sun, the native will profit from new medicines, development of roads (routes), chemicals supplies, forest, evil friendship, hunting, skin, fiery things, king's atrocities and batiles, etc., besides, gain of wealth and commendation from the king. patience, persistent efforts, valour, prestige, elevation of fame, brilliance and kingly comforts are achieved !!

नीचे षडष्टके रिःफे दुर्बले पापसंयुत्ते ।
राहुकेतुसमायुक्ते दुःस्थानाधिपसंयुत्ते ॥ १२ ॥

तस्मिन्दाये महापीडा धनधान्यविनाशकृत ।
राजकोप: प्रवासश्च राजदण्डो धनक्षयः ॥ १३ ॥

ज्वरपीडा यशोहानिर्बन्धुमित्रविरो धकृत ।
पितृक्षयभयं चैव गृहे त्वशुभमेव च ॥ १४ ॥

पितृवर्गे मनस्ताप जनद्वेणं च विन्दत्ति ।
शुभदृष्टियुते सूर्ये मध्ये तस्मिन्‌ क्वचित्सुखम्‌ ॥
पापग्रहेण सन्दृष्टे वदेत्पापफलं बुघः ॥ १५ ॥

12-15: If the Sun is weak by his position in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, sign of debilitation, conjunct with the maletics, Rahu or Ketu or with the lords of the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, during the operation of the Dasa, intense miseries, loss of wealth and fame, living in foreign land, punishment by the Sovereign (Government/authorities), money crunch, pains of illness, defame, confrontation with brothers and friends, fear of father's death, and other kind of unfavourable results are felt. In this duration, mental agony of the parents and native also encounters unjustified wrath ofpublic. If weak Sun has aspect or company of the benefic ptanets, Native at times, gets happy events but if there is only malefic influence, the learned astrologers shail always predict unfavourable results

i)Planets occupying the sign of debilitation

ii)Planets positied in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house

iii)Planets are radically weak

iv)Planets having conjuncton with Rahu or Ketu or with the lords of the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house.

The debilitated Sun gives sudden affects, such as fracture of the bones, eruption of sudden fever. In this currency of Dasa the native loses his confidence, If the Sun is not in the state of debilitation but otherwise badly placed, in his Dasa, the native faces the bad period boldly and puts his best efforts to overcome it. In case the Sun being the lord of the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house and also posited In one of these houses, the adverse results are not noticed, because the Sun perforce has to give effects of Viprita Rajayoga. Under these circumstances, the more the malefic influences, on the Sun, the more it goes in favour of the native.

एवं सूर्यफलं विप्र ! संक्षेपादुदितं मया ।
विशोत्तरीमत्तेनाथ ब्रुवे चन्द्रदशाफलम्‌ ॥ १६ ॥

स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगे चैव केन्द्रे लाभत्रिकोणगे ।
शुभग्रहेण संयुक्ते पूर्णे चन्द्रे बलैर्युत्ते ॥ १७ ॥

कर्मभाग्याधिपैर्युक्ते वाहनेशबलैर्युते ।
आद्यन्तैश्वर्यसौभाग्य-धन-धान्यादिलाभकृत ॥ १८ ॥

गृहे तु शुभकार्याणि वाहनं राजदर्शनम्‌ ।
यत्नकार्यार्थसिद्धिः स्याद्‌ गृहे लक्ष्मीकटाक्षकृत्‌ ॥ १९ ॥

मित्रप्रभुवशाद् भाग्यं राज्यलाभं महत्सुखम्‌ ।
अश्वान्दोल्यादिलाभं च श्वेतवस्त्रादिकं लभेत्‌ ॥ २० ॥

पुत्रलाभादिसन्तोषं गृहगोधनसंकुलम्‌ ।
धनस्थानगते चन्द्रे तुङे स्वक्षेत्रगेऽपि वा ॥ २१ ॥

अनेकधनलाभं च भाग्यवृद्धिर्महत्सुस्मम्‌ ।
निक्षेपरणजसम्मानं विद्यालाभं च विन्दत्ति ॥ २२ ॥

16-22 : O Brahmin! After briefly describing the results of the Dasa of the Sun, now I explain the results of the Moon's Dasa in accordance to Vimsottari Dasa system. Ifthe Moon is in the sign of exaltation, own sign, in Kendras (Angles) or Trikonas (Trines) and conjoined with the benefic planets, full moon, powertul and accompanied by the lord of the 10th, the 9th orthe 4th house, during the Dasaof the Moon, beginning till the end, happiness, enjoyment, auspiciousness would prevail. Gain in wealth and agriculture Produce, many auspicious ceremonies at home, comforts of conveyance, meeting with the king, success at works, blessing of goddess Laxami enhancement of fortune through Royalty and friends and state of extreme enjoyment are achieved. Acquisition of conveyance and white apparels, happiness of having a son, addition of cows in the house etc., are the other benefits native would reap during this period.

If the Moon is posited in the 11th house and is also in her own sign or in the sign of exaltation, gain of wealth in its assorted forms, accretion in fortune, happiness and education and also Royal commendation are likly to be bestowed during this period.

The Bombay's edition of this treatise, states that in the major period of tha Moon, the results like, warmth of ihe mother, house, garden, tank etc., status in the society, elégant conveyance, marriage in the house and other related auspicious functions, success in business, accomplishment of venture, fortune uplift with the blessings of preceptor and friends and pitfall-gains are generally felt.

The effects of the Moon's Dasa enunciated in the publication of M/s. Thakur Prashad & Sons are almost identical. Rise in the fortune (status) is an additional etfect which it has recorded - along with one extra Shloka which states.

"The Moon duly influenced by the lords of 10th and 9th houses duly conjunct with the 4th lord, gives effect to rise in fortune and gain in wealth and healt".

In the above Shloka, these particular results are obtained only in the combination of the Moon with the Yoga Karaka a planets.

नीचे वा क्षीणचन्द्रे वा धनहानिर्भविष्यति ।
दुश्चिक्ये बलसंयुक्ते क्वचित्सौख्यं क्वचिद्धनम्‌ ॥ २३ ॥

दुर्बले पापसंयुक्ते देहजाड्यं मनोरुजम्‌ ।
भृत्यपीडा वित्तहानिर्मातृवर्गजनाद्वध: ॥ २४ ॥

षष्ठाष्टमव्यये चन्द्र दुर्बले पापसंयुते ।
राजद्वेषो मनोदुःखं धनधान्यादिनाशनम्‌ ॥ २५ ॥

मातृक्लेशं मनस्तापं देहजाड्यं मनोरुजम्‌ ।
दुःस्थे चन्द्रे बलैर्युक्ते क्वचिल्लाभं क्वचित्सुखम्‌ ॥
देहजाड्यं क्वचिच्चैव शान्त्या तत्र शुभं दिशेत्‌ ॥ २६ ॥

23-26: If the Moon is in the sign of debilitation and powerless being in Krishna Pakasha, in the Dasa of such Moon, there will be gain in wealth. In case, the powerful Moon is in the 3rd house, fluctuating effects, at times, comforts and at time, gain in wealth are felt. Having conjunct with the malefic planets, the weak Moon sets in sluggish feeling, mental derangement, trouble in service, loss of wealth and intense trouble (death like) from the maternal relations. If the same weak Moon is posited in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, (Trik Houses), blame from the authorities (King), mental tension, loss of wealth and health, conflict with mother, enertness, mental depression etc., will also cause during the Dasa. If the Moon is posited in Trik houses (6th, 8th or 12th) but powerful, mixed results of gain in wealth, happiness or bodily pains etc., will be felt intermittently.

स्वभोच्चादिगतस्यैवं नीचशत्रुभगस्य च ।
ब्रवीमि भूमिपुत्रस्य शुभाऽशुभदशाफलम्‌ ॥ २७॥

परमोच्चगते भौमे स्वोच्चे मूलत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वर्क्षे केन्द्रत्रिकोणे वा लाभे वा धनगेऽपि वा ॥ २८ ॥

सम्पूर्णबलसंयुक्ते शुभदृष्टे शुभांशके ।
राज्यलाभं भूमिलाभं धनधान्यादिलाभकृत् ॥ २९॥

आधिक्यं राजसम्मानं वाहनाम्बरभूषणम्‌ ।
विदेशे स्थानलाभं च सोदशणां सुखं लभेत्‌ ॥ ३० ॥

केन्द्रे गते सदा भौमे दुश्चिक्ये बलस्तंयृते ।
पराक्रमाद्वित्तलाभो युद्धे शत्रुञ्जयो भवेत् ॥ ३१ ॥

कलत्रपुत्रविभवं राजसम्मानमेव च ।
दशादौ सुखमाप्नोति दशान्ते कष्टमादिशेत्‌ ॥ ३२ ॥

27-32: Now I narrate the auspicious and inauspicious results of the Dasa of Mars consequential to its placement in exaltation or own signs or in debilitated or nimical sign. If Mars is in deep exaltation, exalted sign, Mooltrikona sign, own sign, Angle or Trine houses, the 11th or the 2nd house and also with full strength, in conjunction with and aspected by the benefic planets and posited in benefic Navamsa, the Dasa will result in gain in wealth and agriculture produce, benefit from Ihe Sovereign (Government, employer etc.). Felicitations from the Sovereign, acquisilion conveyance, apparels, jewellery etc., dwelling in the foreign land, warmth and compassion from brothers (co-borns) is also attained Strong Mars placed in the 3rd or Angle houses, gives wealth earned through sustained struggle, victory over enemies etc. In the beginning of the Dasa comforts from wife, son, status and Royal felicilation is felt. However, some difficult time towards the end of he Dasa may also be expected.

Mars becomes strong if posited in the auspicious houses, and it instills fiery nature in the native. He also gets courage, firmness and patience, Besides, urge of creativity is also felt during this period. In other words, whatever task the native accomplishes during the Dasa of Mars, it is purely due to his personal efforts, struggle and virility.

नीचादिदुष्टभावस्थे भौमे बलविवर्सिते ।
पापयुक्ते चापदृष्टे सा दशा नेष्टदायिका ॥ ३३ ॥

33 : Mars, if in the sign of debilitation, located in the inauspicious houses, powerless, conjunct or aspected by the matefic planets, the Dasa of Mars will give bad and unfavourable results.

“पापौ भौमरुजार्तिदं च कलहं चौराग्निबं--
धव्रणमक्षिक्षीण महीशपीडनरुजः क्षोभक्षतिं दास्यति"

It maans that if Mars is malefic, it sets in disease, trouble, some time thet, fire, imprisonment, injury, weak eyesight, displeasure trom king (Government) ete.

Other ancient works gave detailed account of the effects of the Dasa of malefic Mars. According to Jataka Parijataka, during the Dasa ot afflicted Mars, the native suffers from bile, blood infection, paintul fever, company of unchaste women, conflict with wife, disrespect to preceptor, friends and lack of affection for son and would consume bad food.

Ancient Scholars viz., Kalidasa and Manteshwara expressed the same opinion However, Savant Kalyan Verma’s contention on this subject is al variance and according to him when the Dasa of the afflicted Mars is in progress, the native suffers trom epilepsy, cuts and wounds and he tends to become arrogant, unethical and irreligious.

एवं राहोश्च केतोश्च कथयामि गृहादिकम् ।
तयोर्दशाफलज्ञप्त्यै तवाऽग्रे द्विजनन्दन ! ॥ ३४ ॥

राहोस्तु वृषभं केतोर्वृश्चिकं तुङसंज्ञकम् ।
मूलत्रिकोणकं ज्ञेयं युग्मं चापं क्रमेण च ॥ ३५ ॥

कुम्भाली च गृहौ प्रोक्तो कन्या- मीनौ च केनचित् ।
ताद्दाये बहुसौख्यं च धनधान्यादिसम्पदाम् ॥ ३६ ॥

मित्रप्रभुवशादिष्टं वाहनं पुत्रसम्भवः ।
नवीनगृहनिर्माणं धर्मचिन्ता महोत्सवः ॥ ३७ ॥

विदेशराजसन्मानं वस्त्रालङारभूषणम् ।
शुभयुक्ते शुभैर्दृष्टे योगकारकसंयुते ॥ ३८ ॥

केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभे वा दुश्चिक्ये शुभराशिगे ।
महाराजप्रसादेन सर्वसम्पत्सुखावहम् ॥ ३९ ॥

यवनप्रभुसन्मानं गृहे कल्याणसम्भवम् ॥ ३९½ ॥

34-39-1/2;O Brahmin! Now I explain the signs etc., of Rahu and Ketu so that I can disclose the results of their Dasa before you. The exaltation signs of Rahu is Scorpio and for Ketu itis Taurus and the Moola Trikona signs are respectively Sagiltarius and Gemini Own sign of Rahu is Aquarius and of Ketu is Scorpio. Some have reckoned Virgo and Pisces signs respectively. lf Rahu is exalted in the nativily, its Dasa wil! be extremely favourable and wealth, prosperity etc., is attained. Ambitions are accomplished through friends and king (Government), possibility of conveyance and son, construction of new residence, religious feelings, festivity, Royal recognition in the foreign land, decorative items, Jewellery etc., are also achieved. If Rahu is aiso aspected by and in conjunction with the benefic planets, positied in Angles, Trines the 11th or the 3rd house and with auspicious sign, property, land etc. and happiness is achieved with the blessing of king. Also recognition fromthe head al the family and welfare of house become possible.

Bombay's publication of ihe treatise cites some more results, Such as; the major period of Rahu, brings about beneficence, expansion of kingdom, spreading of religion, pilgrimage, higher knowledge and dominance Travelling abroad is also stated to be on card

रन्ध्रे षा व्ययगे रादौ तद्दाये कष्टमादिशेत्‌ ॥ ४० ॥

पापग्रहेण सम्बन्धो मारकग्रहसंयुते ।
नीचराशिगते वापि स्थानभ्रंशो मनोव्यथा ॥ ४१ ॥

विनाशो डारपुत्राणां कुत्सितान्नं तान्ने च भोजनम्‌ ।
दशादौ देहपीहा च धनधान्यपरिच्युत्तिः ॥ ४२ ॥

दशामध्ये तु सौख्यं स्यात् स्वदेशे धनलाभकृत्‌ ।
दशान्ते कष्टमाप्नोति स्थानभ्रंशो मनोव्यथा ॥ ४३ ॥

40-43 : If Rahu is posited in the 8th or the 12th house, the result of the Dasa is painful. If Rahu has connection with the malefic planets and is conjunct with 'Maraka’ house, the result will be shifting of place. mental agony, dealth of wife and son, stale food etc, in the beginning of Dasa, physical stress and loss of wealth and agriculture produce, be expected and in the middle posilion of the Dasa, the native receives comforts and also wealth (profits) from the foreign countries. In the last portion of the Dasa, distress, change of place and mental stresses and strains will be felt.

यः सर्वेषु नभोगेषु बुधैरतिशुभ: स्मृतः ।
तस्य देवेन्द्रपूज्यस्य कथयामि दशाफलम्‌ ॥ ४४ ॥

44 : Amongst all the planets, the planet which is considered as most auspicious, now I describe the results of the Dasa of that divine-worship Jupiter

स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगे जीवे केन्द्र लाभत्रिकोणगे ।
मूलत्रिकोणलाभे वा तुंगांशे स्वांशगेऽपि वा ॥ ४५ ॥

राज्यलाभं महात्त्सौस्यं राजसन्मानकीर्तनम्‌ ।
गजवाजिसमायुक्तं देवब्राह्मणपूजनम्‌ ॥ ४६ ॥

दारपुत्रादिसौख्यं च वाहनांबरलाभजम्‌ ।
यज्ञादिकर्मसिद्धिः स्याद्वेदान्तश्रवणादिकम्‌ ॥ ४७ ॥

महाराजप्रसादेनाऽभीष्टसिद्धिः सुखावहा ।
आन्दोलिकादिलाभश्च कल्याणं च महत्सुखम्‌ ॥ ४८ ॥

पुत्रदारादिलाभश्च अन्नदानं महत्प्रियम्‌ ।

45-48-1/2: If Jupiter, is posited in the exaltation sign, own sign, Angles (Kendras), Trines, the 11th house, Mooltrikona sign, own or exalted Navamsa, benefit from the Sovereign, felicitation from king (Government, authorities etc.), aesthetical happiness, comforts of elephants, horses, worship of God and Brahmins, affection from wite and son, vehicles and clathes be attained, success in Yagna (यक्ष) and ventures, listening of sermons on ‘Vedanta’, accomplishments with king's blessings, ushering of happiness, acquisition of ‘Palaki' (vehicle), overall prosperily, pleasure ol wife (Marriage) and sons, gift of choiced tood and fruits etc., be caused during the Dasa

नीचास्तपापसंयुक्ते जीवै रिष्फाष्टसंयुते ॥ ४९ ॥

स्थानभ्रंशं मनस्तापं पुत्रपीडामहद्भयम् ।
पश्वादिधनहानिश्च तीर्थयात्रादिकं लभेत् ॥ ५० ॥

आदी कष्टफलं चैव चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ।
मध्यान्ते सुखमाप्नोति राजसम्मानवैभवम् ॥ ५१ ॥

49-51: Jupiter, in case is in the sign of debilitation, conjunct with ihe malefic planets, posited in the 8th or the 12th house, the result will be change of house (residence), mental tension grief from son, lurking fears, loss of wealth and animals, pilgrimage etc. Distress and then gain of animals, in the beginning of the Dasa and attainment of comforts, Royal commendations, magnificence etc. are caused towards the middie and the last portions of the Dasa.

अथ सर्वेषु खेटेषु योऽतिहीनः प्रकीर्तितः ।
तस्य भास्करपुत्रस्य कथयामि दशाफलम्‌ ॥ ५२ ॥

52: Now I unfold the result of the Saturn (Suryaputra) who is a most inferior and degraded amongst all the planets.

स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगे मन्दे मित्रक्षेत्रेऽथ वा यदि ।
मूलत्रिकोणे भाग्ये वा तुंगांशे स्वांशगेऽपि वा ॥ ५३ ॥

दुश्चिक्ये लाभगे चैव राजसम्मानवैभवम् ।
सत्कीर्तिर्धनलाभश्च विद्यावादविनोदकृत् ॥ ५४ ॥

महाराजप्रसादेन गजवाहनभूषणम् ।
राजयोगं प्रकुर्वीत सेनाधीशान्महत्सुखम् ॥ ५५ ॥

लक्ष्मीकटाक्षचिन्हानि राज्यलाभं करोति च ।
गृहे कल्याणसम्पत्तिर्दारपुत्रादिलाभकृत् ॥ ५६ ॥

53-56 : If Saturn is in the sign of exaltation, own sign, friendly sign, Mooltrikona, the 9th house, or in the Navamsa of the exaltation or own signs, the 3rd house, the 11th house, the native is bestowed with recognition from the king (Government), accretion of wealth, pleasure of literary discussions, elephant ride at the behest of the king, Jewellery etc., high status, commander of the army,monetary gains, splendid happiness. The native gains through authorities (Government), prosperity at home, marriage (wife), birth of son etc.

षष्ठाषष्टमव्यये मन्दे नीचे वाऽस्तङतेऽपि वा ।
विषशस्त्रादिपीडा च स्थानभ्रंशं महद्भवम् ॥ ५७ ॥

पितृमातृवियोगं च दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ।
राजवैषम्यकार्याणि ह्यनिष्टं बन्धनं तथा ॥ ५८ ॥

शुभयुक्तेक्षिते मन्दे योगकारकसंयुते ।
केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभे या मीनगे कार्मुके शनौ ॥ ५९ ॥

राज्यलाभं महोत्साहं गजाश्वाम्बरसंकुलम् ॥ ६० ॥

57-60 : If Saturn is posited in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, debilitated, combust, danger of poison and weapons, destruction of place, change of place, intense fear, agony of parents, grief of wife and children, antigovernmental activities and misfortune, imprisonment etc., and distressful results therefrom are expected. Saturns, it conjoined with benefic and Yogakarka planets, posited in Angles, Trine houses, the 11th house or in Pisces or Sagittarius sign, gain from authorities (Government). highly enthusiasm, comfort of clothes, elephant, horses (conveyance) etc. will be attained

अथ सर्वनभोगेषु यः कुमारः प्रकीर्तितः ।
तस्य तारेशपुत्रस्य कथयांमि दशाफलम्‌ ॥ ६१ ॥

61: Now I narrate the results of the Dasa of Moon's son Mercury who is also known as 'Kumar' planet (adolescence)

स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रसंयुक्ते केन्द्रलाभत्रिकोणगे ।
मित्रक्षेत्रसमायुक्ते सौम्ये दाये महत्सुखम ॥ ६२ ॥

धनधान्यादिलाभं च सत्कीर्तिधनसम्पदाम् ।
ज्ञानाधिक्यं नृपप्रीति सत्कर्मगुणवर्द्धनम् ॥ ६३ ॥

पुत्रदारादि-सौख्यं च देहारोग्य महत्सुखम् ।
क्षीरेण भोजनं सौख्यं व्यापाराल्लभते धनम् ॥ ६४ ॥

शुभदृष्टिपुते सौम्ये भाग्ये कर्माघिपे दशा ।
आधिपत्ये बलवती सम्पूर्णफतदायिका ॥ १६५ ॥

62-65: Mercury being exalted, posited in own sign, Angles (Kendras), Trines, friendly sign ushers happiness, acquisition of wealth, prosperity; popularity, property, attainment of higher education and refind qualities gratification from the Rulers, keen interest in pious works, warmth of wife and children, pleasure of sound health, high degree of contenment, decent food (prepared in milk), and business gains. Mercury if aspected by or conjunct with benefic planets and lord of 10th house or having Bhava Bala, its Dasa will give full effects

पापग्रहयुते दृष्टे राजद्वेषं मनोरुजम् ।
बन्धुजनविरोधं च विदेशगमनं लभेत् ॥ ६६ ॥

परप्रेष्यं च कलहं मूत्रकृच्छ्रान्महदभ्यम् ।
षष्ठाष्टमव्यये सौम्ये लाभभोगार्थनाशनम् ॥ ६७ ॥

वातपीडां धनं चैव पाण्डुरोगं विनिर्दिशेत् ।
नृपचौराग्निभीतिं च कृषिगोभूमिनाशनम् ॥ ६८ ॥

दशादौ धनधान्यं च विद्यालाभं महत्सुखम् ।
पुत्रकल्याणसम्पत्तिः सन्मार्गे धनलाभकृत् ॥ ६९ ॥

मध्ये नरेन्द्रसन्मानमन्ते दुःखं भविष्यति ॥ ७० ॥

66-70: Mercury if aspected by or conjunct with the malefic planets, the native faces the wrath of the Ruler (Government), gets mentally upset, confrontation from co-borns and relatives, foreign travels etc. Also becomes dependant, acquires urinary disease and under goes grave fear, If Mercury is located in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, income, passion and wealth gets decimated, disease like jaundice and rheumatism are indicative Fright of the Government (King), theft, fire etc., destruction of agriculture produce, cattles, Properly (land), The beginning of the Dasa brings about, wealth and agriculture produce, abundant comforts, warmth of sons, felicity, acquisition of property, gains in wealth. Middle part of the Dasa, brings recognition from the king (Government) and last portion of the Dasa, sets in miseries, obstacles etc

यस्तमोग्रहयोर्मध्ये कबन्धः कथ्यते बुधैः ।
तस्य केतोरिदार्नी ते कथयामि दशाफलम्‌ ॥ ७१ ॥

71 : Now I describe the result of the Dasa of Ketu reckoned as 'headless body' (कबन्ध) planet amidst all the planets

केन्द्र लाभे त्रिकोणे वा शुभराशौ शुभेक्षिते ।
स्वोच्चे वा शुभवर्गे वा राजप्रीतिं, मनोनुगम् ॥ ७२ ॥

देशग्रामाधिपत्यं च वाहनं पुत्रसम्भवम् ।
देशान्तरप्रयाणं च निर्दिशेत् तत् सुखावहम् ॥ ७३ ॥

पुत्रदारसुखं चैव चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ।
दुश्चिक्ये षष्ठलाभे वा केतुर्दायि सुखं दिशेत् ॥ ७४ ॥

राज्यं करोति मित्रांशं गजवाजिसमन्वितम् ।
दशादौ राजयोगाश्च दशामध्ये महद्भयम् ॥ ७५ ॥

अन्ते दूराटनं चैव देहविश्रमणं तथा ।
धने रन्धे व्यये केतौ पापदृष्टियुतेक्षिते ॥ ७६ ॥

निगडं बन्धुनाशं च स्थानभ्रंशं मनोरुजम् ।
शूद्रसंगादिलाभं च कुरुते रोगसंकुलम् ॥ ७७ ॥

72-77: If Ketu is posited in Angles (Kendras) the 11th house, Trines (Trikonas), in benefic signs duly aspected by the benefic Vargas (divisions), seeking of kings’ affection, administrator of the country or village, possibility of the pleasure of conveyance and children, happiness from the travelling of the country and foreign land be indicative. In this Ketu's Dasa, the native will have the pleasure of his wife and children and gains of cattles. Ketu being in the 3rd, the 6th or the 11th house will give happiness in its Dasa and the native gains from the king, aflection of freinds and pleasure of owning elephant, horses etc. (conveyance). Beginning of the Dasa brings kingship, in the middle of the Dasa, feeling of intense fear and towards the end of the Dasa, travelling to farflung countries and fear of ailments is felt. Ketu conjunct with or aspecied by the malefic planets while posited in the 2nd, the 8th or the 12th house brings about severance of relationship with co-borns, relatives etc., and destruction of the property (land), anguish, company of inferiors, eruption of disease etc.

अथ भूतेषु यः शुक्रो मदरुपेण तिष्ठति ।
तस्य दैत्यगुरोर्विप्र ! कथयामि दशाफलम् ॥ ७८ ॥

78: Venus who resides in every human being with passion and strong emotions and preceptor of the devils, Brahmin by caste, now I perorate the results of the Dasa of that very Venus before you.

परमोच्चगते शुक्रे स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रकेन्द्रगे ।
नृपाऽभिषेक-सम्प्राप्तिर्वाहनाऽम्बरभूषणम् ॥ ७९ ॥

गजाश्वपंशुलाभं च नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ।
अखण्डमण्डलाधीश-राजसन्मानवैभवम् ॥ ८० ॥

मृदंगवाद्यघोषं च गृहे लक्ष्मीकटाक्षकृत् ।
त्रिकोणस्थे निजे तस्मिन् राज्यार्थगृहहसम्पदः ॥ ८१ ॥

विवाहोत्सवकार्याणि पुत्रकल्याणवैभवम् ।
सेनाधिपत्यं कुरुते इष्टबन्धुसमागमम् ।
नष्टराज्याद्धनप्राप्ति गृहे गोधनसङ्ग्रहम् ॥ ८२ ½ ॥

79-82 : It Venus is in deep exaltation, own sign or in Angles (Kendras), the native will have coronations (kingship); gains of vehicles, clothes, ornaments, elephants, horses (conveyance) and other animals: eats food with sweet every day, gets recognition from sovereign, sounding of drum (percussions) loudly and gets wealthy and prosperous house (with Ihe grace of goddess Laxami), Venus if occupies the Trines (Trikona), bestowal of kingdom (synonymity with the high government position etc.), wealth, house, festivity at home, welfare of childrens, commandership of the army and welcome visits of the dear relatives, accumulaticn of cattle be also predicted.

षष्ठाष्टमव्यये शुक्रे नीचे वा व्ययराशिगे ॥ ८३ ॥

आत्मबन्धुजनद्वेषं दारवर्गादिपीडनम् ।
व्यवसायात्फलं नष्टं गोमहिष्यादिहानिकृत् ।
दारपुत्रादिपीडा वा आत्मबन्धुवियोगकृत् ॥ १८४ १/२ ॥

83-84 ½ : Venus, in case is posited in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, in the sign ol debilitation or in the sign of the 12th lord, the Dasa of Venus will produce enmity with the relatives, distress from the women folks, loss in business, cattle etc., agony to wife and children, annoyance of relatives etc,

भाग्यकर्माधिपत्येन लग्नवाहनराशिगे ॥ ८५ ॥

तद्दशायां महत्सौख्यं देशग्रामाधिपालता ।
देवालयतडागादिपुण्यकर्मसु संग्रहः ॥ ८६ ॥

अन्नदाने महत्सौख्यं नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ।
उत्साहः कीर्तिसम्पत्ती स्त्रीपुत्रधनसम्पदः ॥ ८७ ॥

85-87: Venus being the lord of the 9th or the 10th house and posited in the Ascendant or the 4th house, the Dasa of Venus will set intremendous happiness and the native becomes administrator of stale or village (town), his religious instinct will get stirred up and thus he will construct temples, tanks and will take pleasure in giving donation of food etc,, eat sumptuous food with sweet, get enthusiastic towards his work and will have the comfort of status, wealth, assets, wife, children etc.

स्वभुक्तौ फलमेव स्याद्बलान्यन्यानि भुक्तिषु ।
द्वितीयधूननाथे तु देहपीडा भविष्यति ॥ ८८ ॥

तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं रुद्रं वा त्रयम्बकं जपेत् ।
श्वेतां गां महिषीं दद्यादारोग्यं च ततो भवेत् ॥ ८९ ॥

88-89 : Apropos results are in the Dasa of Venus and similar kind of results may also be expected in the Venus’s Antradasa of the Mahadasa of other planets. Should Venus be the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house, there will be physical danger. To mitigate this effect, obeisance of Lord Shiva through Vedic Mantras or recitction of Mrityunjaya (मृत्युव्जय मन्त्र) may be pertormed. Donation of cow or buffalo also brings a sound health.

Notas : Acquring the lordshipship of the 2nd and the 7th houses, Venus becomes Maraka (propensity of inflicting death). However, Venus acts as Maraka when posited in the malefic houses. With the placement in the inauspicious houses and under malefic aspects, Venus becomes more powerful towards his function of Markesha.

The good and adverse results of the planets surface during the Mahadasa and Antardasa of such Planets. However, the native also experiences the effect of the other planets who are exerting their influences (benefic or maletic) on the planet whose Dasa or Antardasa is operating With every Ascendant, the sequence of the results of the Dasa of a particular planet gets changed, The Ascendant plays predominant rely in fixing malefie or benefic characteristic of a planet and consequently sets in variation in the results during their Dasas
