54. VIMSHOTTARI DASA SYSTEM RESULTS OF THE ANTARDASAS IN THE MAHADASA OF THE SUN

स्वोच्चे स्वभे स्थितः सूर्यो लाभे केन्द्रे त्रिकोणके ।
स्वदशायां स्वभुक्तौ च धन-धान्यादि-लाभकृत्‌ ॥ १ ॥

नीचाद्यशुभराशिस्यो विपरीतं फलं दिशेत्‌ ।
द्वितीयद्यूननायथेऽर्के त्वपमृत्युभयं वदेत्‌ ॥ २ ॥

ततद्दोशपरिहारार्थं मृत्युञ्जयजपं चरेत्‌ ।
सूर्यप्रीतिकरीं शान्तिं कुर्यादारोग्यलब्धये ॥ ३ ॥

1-3: If the Sun is exalted, or posited in its own sign, the 11th house, Angles (Kendras) or Trines (Trikonas), there will be gain of wealth and food grains in the Antardasa of the Mahadasa of the Sun. Reverse will be the results if the Sun is in debilitation, inauspicious sign etc. The Sun being the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house, it will cause apprehension of early death. In order to guard against these ill effects, "Mrityunjaya Japa" be recited (or have it done through some one). Undertaking the worship and other religious observance of the Sun, will bestow good health.

i)The importance of the lord of a house, depends upon the fact what all traits the said house signifies?

ii)The nature of the lord of the house (Planet).

iii)The factors influencing the change in the nature of the planet has great importance, such as, conjunction and aspects with another planets so also its position in a particular Nakshatra. For example; The Sun being the lord of the 9th house will influence the mind and wisdom andif the Sun is situated in the Nakshatra of Jupiter, the native's spritual convictions will get activated. Alternatively, if the Sun happens to be in the Nakshatra of Rahu, the. Sun’s quality of ‘Atma Karaka’will get eroded with the devilish quality of Rahu.

iv)The ancient scholars of the Astrology, have fixed the time of the natural planetary Dasas. A relevant Shloka is quoted and explained as under :

"एकंद्वौ नवविशतिर्धुतिकृती पञ्वाशदोषां क्रमाच्यप्द्रोरन्दुजशुक्रजीव कैूदवाकरीणांसमाः ।
स्वैः स्वैः पुष्ठफला निर्सगजीनतैः पक्तिर्दशायाः क्रमादन्ते ----------- ॥

It goes on to say that commencing from the time of birth, one year will belong to the Moon, followed by 2 years to Venus, 18 years to Jupiter, 20 years to the Sun and thereafter 50 years are the natural period for Saturn. The natural Dasa years has great bearings on the Vimshottari Dasa system. At the time of operation of a particular Dasa in the life span, if the lord of natural Dasa is also become lord of the Mahadasa, the related events of the said Dasa are bound to occur.

v)The lord of Angles or Trines if happened to be a Yoga Karaka, it will render good results. However before deciding the aspect of Yogakaraka, we have to consider the Ascendants of the Moon and the Sun. Apart from being birth Ascendants, if a planet which gets approved as Yogakaraka planet in these two Ascendants, it will be highly capable of producing auspicious results than the Yogkaraka planets without it. Infact, the selection of the Yogakaraka planet in this manner, will certainly bring avout wealth, status, Success etc.

vi)Compound relationship of the planet (Panchdha Maitri Chakra) plays a great role in ascertaining the results of the Antardasas. Suppose the Antardasa of Saturn in the Mahadasa of the Sun is in operation and as per the compound relationship of the nativity, Saturn is a bitter enemy of the Sun, then Saturn inspite of being a Yogakaraka planet will not give that much good resuits in its Antardasa. Further, an inimical sub-period lord degrades the results of the Mahadasa in its Antardasa period. For example, the Antardasa of Rahu in the main period of the Moon, brings mental tension, develops irritable behaviour, loses vitality etc., regardless of whether Rahu draws good or bad influences on the Moon.

vii)Whenever two planets whose main and sub-periods have come to operate and they are enemy to the lord of a particular house, the said house will certainly receive adverse affects relating to the significance of the house. The auspicious positions of the lords of the Mahadasa and Antardasa will, on the otherhand, boost up the good results.

viii)Lord of Antardasa does influence the lord of the Mahadasa even though they may not have any connections. However, if they do have one, the effect will be more pronounced.

ix)In the event of Antardasa and Mahadasa being of one planet, this planet will have the prerogative of shaping the events in its Antardasaa. If such planet is strong and belongs to an auspicious house, the good results are heightened and in a contrary situation, it will have dampening effects.

x)Antardasa of a retrogade planet whether benefic or malefic, does cause delay, uncertainty, change etc.

xi)The planet being exalted, in Mooltrikona or in own sign, having high Shadabala rating, high benefic points in Astakvarga and if not combust or in an infancy stage or of old age but located in the middle cusp and having benefic ‘Avasthas’, it will produce excellent results.

xii)Ista, Kashta Balas of a planet should invariably be determined because, Maharishi Parasara has saidvery clearly that the auspicious and inauspicious results of a Mahadasa should be ascertained only on these basis.

xiii)More the number of benefic connections exist between the lords of the houses in a horoscope, the greater degree of favourable results will be promised.

xiv)If the natural benefic planets go into the malefic Vargas (Divisions), it loses the beneficence. Conversely, if malefic planets occupy more of the benefic Vargas (Divisional Charts), it will gain benefic potency. The Vargas of own sign, exaltation sign, signs of the benefic planets are considered good positions in the divisional charts. While the positions of debilitated sign, enemy sign, signs of the malefic planets etc. are in bad locations in the chart and will spoil the good effects.

xv)While analysing the effects of the Antardasa, the transiting positions of the planets should carefully be examined before arriving at any conclusion.

Example : 18

Onthe basis of these principles, a horoscope has been analysed as under:

Data : Date of birth, 1/2, Feb, 1963; Time of birth, 4-00 p.m. (IST); Latitude 28°-37'N; Longitude 77°-54’E.

Vimsopaka strength (of the Sun)

Balance of Dasa at birth : Venus 0 year, 3 months, 25 days.

In the Anatardasa of the Sun in Sun’s Mahadasa, i.e. between 30- 5-1963 and 16-9-1963, the child had undergone operation for cutting the string attached between the tongue and the lower Jaw because this extended flesh was creating problems for the child. The Sun is in the 2nd house alongwith Ketu and Saturn (bitter enemy) receiving the malefic aspects of Mars and Rahu. The Sun is in Kumara and Khala Avasthas and also having aspects of Saturn in Trimsamsa chart. The Karaka for mouth is Venus which is in the Nakshatra of Ketu and Ketu is occupying the place of mouth in Trimsamsa. Incidentally, the Sun is connected with Saturn in most of the divisional charts. The ‘Kashta Bala’ of the Sun is 35. 10 and therefore, this is an indicator of imposing trouble as per its situation and has as such, caused the disease signified by the 2nd house i.e., mouth. This was followed by a disease in the eye. Here again affliction of the 2nd. house caused this disease because 2nd house also represents eye.

The Dwadamsa represent parents. In the divisional chart, the Sun is in the 9th house and is in its own sign. The Sun has more than the required strength in Shadbala. The Sun is in “Prakasha” Avastha, which promises abundant wealth. Inthis duration viz., in the Antardasa of the Sun andin Sun’s main period, the native's father had acquired sizable amount of wealth.

However, the moot point is that the Sun inspite of being the lord of the 9th house had caused trouble to the native in its Antardasa and the main reason for this divergent resultis that the Sun acquired different type of odd situations created by the varied combinations.

The Sun is the Karaka forbones. The Pisces sign and 12th house represent feet. When the Sun being the lord of the 6th House posited in the 12th house and Jupiter lord of 12th is not in a good house and both the Sun and Jupiter are also having other malefic influences, there by creating chances of fracture etc., to the feet in the period of the Sun. This aspect will get amply clarified through an example appended below :

Example : 18-A

Data : Date of birth 19.3. 1982; Time of birth 6-38 a.m. (IST). Place of birth, Delhi.

Shadbala : 7-78 Rupas

The Sun being the lord of the 6th house is situated in the Ascendant which represents body with affliction. Here the sign signifies the feet. The malefic Saturn is quite strong in Shadbala and aspects Sun along with Mars which undoubtedly is not good for the body. The Sun not only having aspects from its stauch enemy Saturn but also is in Saturn’s Nakshatra. The Antardasa and also the Mahadasa of the Sun was running from 26.10.1993 to 12.2.1994. In this period, one foot of the native got crushed due to fall of heavy weight and bones of the foot suffered multi-fracture. The Shayana Avastha of the Sun is also responsible for this suffering because Sage Parasara has very clearly stated in the aphorism that if the Sun is passing through the Shayana Avastha, the feet of the native will get affected.

सूर्यस्याऽन्तर्गते चन्द्रे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
विवाहं शुभकार्यं च धनधान्यसमृद्धिकृत् ॥ ४ ॥

गृहक्षेत्राभिवृद्धिं च पशुवाहनसम्पदाम् ।
तुंगेवा स्वर्क्षगे वाऽपि दारसौख्यं धनागमम् ॥ ५ ॥

पुत्रलाभसुखं चैव सौख्यं राजसमागमम् ।
महाराजप्रसादेन इष्टसिद्धिसुखावहम् ॥ ६ ॥

4-6 : In the running Mahadasa of the Sun with the Moon Antardasa, if the Moon is posited in the Ascendant, Angles or Trines, the marriage or other auspicious functions will take place and one gets fame through wealth and prosperity, growth in land and property and gratifying feelings with the acquisitions of vehicles, animals and other assets. If the Moon occupies own or exalted sign, woman's affection, gain of wealth is caused and happiness of son's birth, King's recognition and blessings, contentment over the attainment of desired objectives, will also be the results.

If the Antardasa's lord is also the lord of the 2nd house and occupies 11th or any other good house, the native will have good gain of wealth during this period. He will also acquire fixed assets of the kind which will be useful for his children. An example related to this aspect, is illustrated as under :

Example 19:

Balance Dasa at birth : Ketu 1year 9 months 2 days. Mahadasa of the Sun and Antardasa of the Moon from 8.8.1971 to 7.2.1972.

In this duration, the elder brother of the native who had no issue, but had abundant wealth and immovable property in the form of agriculture land which was to be inherited by the native's sons as per the 'will' of his brother. The 2nd house signifies parental property and this house also represents the elder brother's immovable property being the 4th house from the 11th house. The house of wealth of the elder brother (2nd from 11th) has the lordship of Venus which is posited in the 2nd house of the native. Therefore, the liquid cash, Jewellery etc., was inherited by the native.

Since the Sun is posited in the 2nd house (Wealth) in the sign of the Moon, situated in the 11th house (gain) whose dispositor Mars (brother) is in conjunction with Venus (lord the house of wealth of the elder brother) also having the aspects of Jupiter, these results got fructified in the Main period of the Sun and sub-period of the Moon.

With the acquisition of the assets, the native had been taken to a high status in the society. This factor is quite evident from Dasamsa Chart where the Moon is posited in the Ascendant and in its own sign.

क्षीणे वा पापसंयुक्ते दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ।
वैषम्यं जनसंवादं भृत्यवर्गविनाशनम् ॥ ७ ॥

विरोधं राजकलहं धनधान्यपशुक्षयम् ।
षष्ठाष्टमव्यये चन्द्रे जलभीतिं मनोरुजम् ॥ ८ ॥

बन्धनं रोगपीडां च स्थानविच्युतिकारकम् ।
दुःस्थानं चापि चित्तेन दायादजनविग्रहम् ॥ ९ ॥

निर्दिशेत् कुत्सितान्नं च चौरादिनृपपीडनम् ।
मूत्रकृच्छादिरोगश्च देहपीडा तथा भवेत् ॥ १० ॥

7-10 : A weak Moon, if having conjunction with the malefic planets brings sufferings to wife and children etc., conflicts with the society, degradation in service, confrontation with public, wrath of the king, loss of wealth, animals and prosperity. If the Moon is situated in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, danger from water, loss of confidence, imprisonment, fear of disease, change of place, visits to unwanted places, controversies over litigations, meagre food, distress caused by theft and authorities, urinary connected diseases and other health hazards, will be the pronounced results during the Antardasa.

दायेशाल्लाभभाग्ये च केन्द्रे वा शुभसंयुते ।
भोगभाग्यादिसन्तोषदारपुत्रादिवर्द्धनम् ॥ ११ ॥

राज्यप्राप्तिं महत्सौख्यं स्थानप्राप्तिं च शाश्वतीम् ।
विवाहं यज्ञदीक्षां च सुमाल्याम्बरभूषणम् ॥ १२ ॥

वाहनं पुत्रपौत्रादि लभते सुखवर्द्धनम् ॥ १२½ ॥

11-12 ½: If there are benefic planets in the 11th or the 8th and in the 1st, the 4th, the 7th or the 10th house from the lord of the Mahadasa, in the Antardasa of the Moon, the results will be. luxurious comforts, rise in fortune, contentment, added comforts for wife and children, gains from the King (authority), ample happiness, acquisition of additional land, marriage (if not already married), Yugna (oblation) etc. kind of festivals, precious ornaments, purchase of vehicles, birth of a child or grand child etc.

दायेशाद्रिपुरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ॥ १३ ॥

अकाले भोजनं चैव देशाद्देशं गमिष्यति ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे च ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ॥
श्वेतां गां महिषीं दद्याच्छान्तिं कुर्यात्सुखाप्तये ॥ १४ ॥

13-14: If the Moon is posited in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house from the lord of the Mahadasa and is powerless, during the Antardasa of the Moon, the native will take bad and meagre food! and will travel to various places. In the Antardasa of the 2nd and the 7th lord will cause fear of death in the early age. In that event, to alleviate the evil effects of the Moon and gain happiness, white cow and female buffalo be donated in charity.

Example : 20

Balance Dasa at birth : Mercury 10 years, 8 months, 14 days.

The Moon is in Revati Nakshatra and its lord is Mercury who considers the Moon as enemy.

The Moon is in the 7th house having malefic aspects from Mars and Saturn. Further, the Moon is the lord of the 6th from the 6th house Posited in the ‘Maraka’ house 7th and is the 8th from the Sun. Therefore, the native in the Mahadasa of the Sun and Antardasa of the Moon (from 7.9.82 to 9.3.1983) had undergone tremendous bodily sufferings. In the same period, he lost his sister. The native got involved in the export business and in this period, he also suffered great loss and he could not regain his original financial position because in the Dashamsa Varga, which has Scorpio as its Ascendant, the Moon being the lord of the 9th house is posited in the 8th house.

सूर्यस्यान्तर्गते भौमे स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रलाभगे ।
लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणे वा शुभकार्यं समादिशे त् ॥ १५ ॥

भूलाभं कृषिलाभं च धनधान्यविवर्धनम्‌ ।
गृहक्षेत्रादिलाभं च रक्तवस्त्रादिलाभकृत्‌ ॥ १६ ॥

लग्नाधिपेन संयुक्ते सौख्यं राजप्रियं वदेत्‌ ।
भाग्यलाभाधिपैर्युक्ते लाभश्चैव भविष्यति ॥ १७ ॥

बहुसेनाधिपत्यं च शत्रुनाशं मनोदुढम्‌ ।
आत्मबन्धुसुखम्‌ चैव भ्रातृवर्द्धनकं तथा ॥ १८ ॥

15-18: If Mars is posited in its exaltation sign or own house or in the 11th house, in the Angles or Trines, in the Mahadasa of the Sun and Antardasa of Mars, there will be auspicious deeds, purchase of house, acceretion of wealth and prosperity, acquisition of agricultural land, gain from red coloured clothes etc. If Mars is in conjunction with the Ascendant, comforts and respect from the state (authority) will be indicative. The conjunction of the 9th or the 11th lord, gain of wealth, post of commander, (very high position in the hierarchy), vanquishing the enemy, undaunted courage, spiritual happiness, regards from friends and all kinds of help and happiness from the co-borns, will be the effect.

Balance of Dasa at birth: Saturn 0 year, 6 months, 2 days.

Avasthas of the Sun and Mars:

Shada Balas of the Sun and Mars.

Sun = 7.97 Rupas

Mars = 6.15 Rupas

The Bhava Bala (House strength) of the 11th house where Mars is placed is 11 Rupa with relative rank 3.

Chaturthamsa (for fortune)

Dasamsa (For Power and Position)

Mars in the nativity is a Yogakaraka and placed in the 11th house alongwith Venus. Venus signifies vehicle, comfort, land and property. Venus is also lord of the 4th house. Mars has the aspects of the Ascendant lord, the Moon, so also of Jupiter. The Sun being the lord of the 2nd house. (wealth) is posited in the Ascendant.

The Agamana Avastha of Mars will give the near results embodied in the Shlokas though the other Avasthas are not encouraging. The position of the Sun and Mars is quite strong and elevated in the Navamsa, Chaturthamsa and Dasamsa. The Shadbalas are very high.

In the Mahadasa of the Sun and Andardasa of Mars (from 10.11.1990 to 18.3.1991), the native purchased a piece of agricultural land measuring 300 acres and also established his position in the political field.

दायेशाद्व्ययरन्ध्रस्थे पापैर्युक्ते च वीक्षिते ।
आधिपत्यबलैर्हीने क्रूरबुद्धिं मनोरुजम् ॥ १९ ॥

कारागृहे प्रवेशं च कथयेद् बन्धुनाशनम् ।
भ्रातृवर्गविरोधं च कर्मनाशमथापि वा ॥ २० ॥

19-20 : If Mars is posited in the 12th or the 8th house from the lord of the Mahadasa, conjunct with or aspected by the malefic planets, loss of authority, wicked thoughts, mental ailments, imprisonment, destruction of brother like relatives etc., the kind of results that will occur during the Antardasa. Besides, enmity amongst the brothers and failures in the ventures will also be expected.

नीचे वा दुर्बले भौमे राजमूलाद्धनक्षयः ।
द्वितीयधूननाथे तु देहे जाड्यं मनोरुजम् ॥ २१ ॥

सुब्रह्मजपदानं च वृषोत्सर्गं तथैव च ।
शान्तिं कुर्वीत विधिवदायुरारोग्यसिद्धिदाम् ॥ २२ ॥

21-22 If Mars is in the sign of debilitation or weak, there will be loss of wealth at the behest of the king (Government) and if Mars is the lord of the 2nd and the 7th houses, it will cause varied bodily and mental illness. By recitations of the Vedic Mantaras, "Mrityunjaya Japa" (hymns), charity, donation of the bull, etc. with proper rituals, the native will cherish good and healthy life and other successes.

सूर्यस्यान्तर्गते राहौ लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
आदौ द्विमासपर्यन्तं धननाशो महद्भयम् ||२३ ॥

चौराहिद्रणभीतिश्च दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ।
तत्परं सुखमाप्नोति शुभयुक्ते शुभांशके ॥ २४ ॥

देहारोग्यं मनस्तुष्टी राजप्रीतिकरं सुखम् ।
लग्नादुपचये राहौ योगकारकसंयुते ॥ २५ ॥

दायेशाच्छुभराशिस्थे राजसम्मानमादिशेत् ।
भाग्यवृद्धिं यशोलाभं दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ॥ २६ ॥

पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषं गृहे कल्याणशोभनम् ॥ २६½ ॥

23-26½ : If Rahu is placed in Angles or Trines from the Ascendant, in the beginning of two months of the Antardasa, heavy loss of wealth will incur and state of psychosis fear will exist. In this Antardasa, the fear of theft, snake bites, injury will also persist and wife and son will under go sufferings. After two months, good results will prevail. Should Rahu have the conjunction of the benefic planets or is situated in a benefic Navamsa, sound health, mental satisfaction and affection of the King (Governments) are the results. From the Ascendant, if Rahu having a conjunction of Yogakaraka planet and is situated in the 3rd, the 6th, the 10th or the 11th (Upachaya) house or in a auspicious house, from the lord of the Mahadasa, the native will get recongnition from the King (Government), rise is the fortune, fame etc; but wife and children will have some kind of sufferings though the birth of child and other festivities will also take place at home.

Data : Date of birth, 13.4.1934; Time of birth 21-50 hrs. (IST) Latitude, 30⁰-11' (N); Longitude 77⁰-18' (E)

Balance of Dasa: Mercury - 4 years, 10 months 26 days.

Rahu is placed in the 3rd house (exalted) in the Nakshatra (Dhanista) of Mars (Ascendant lord) and in a friendly house. Rahu is also in the 10th house from the Mahadasa lord Sun (Upachaya house). Although the Sun is posited in the 6th house, it is in the company of the Ascendant lord and also in the sign of exaltation.

The Sun is in Ketu's Nakshatra Aswini. In the Antardasa of Rahu in the Sun's Mahadasa (from 5.5.1967 to 28.3.1968) the native got his promotion and by dint of hard work, he also got recognition from the State authorities. However, due to transfer, he had to stay away from his family.

दायेशादथ रिष्फस्थे रन्ध्रे वा बलवर्जिते ॥ २७ ॥

बन्धनं स्थाननाशश्च कारागृहनिवेशनम् ।
चौराहिव्रणभीतिश्च दारपुत्रादिवर्द्धनम् ॥ २८ ॥

चतुष्पाज्जीवनाशश्च गृहक्षेत्रादिनाशनम् ।
गुल्मक्षयादिरोगश्च ह्यतिसारादिपीडनम् ॥ २९ ॥

27-29 : The placement of Rahu in the 8th or the 12th house from the Mahadasa lord will cause imprisonment, transfer, confinement, theft, fear from snake, injury etc., but the native enjoys the comforts of wife and children. Such Antardasa will also produce results like loss or destruction of animals, house, agriculture field, and diseases like blisters, tuberculosis, asthama etc.

द्विसप्तस्थे तथा राहौ तत्स्थानाधिपसंयुते ।
अपमृत्युभयं चैव सर्पभीतिश्च सम्भवेत् ॥ ३० ॥

दुर्गाजपं च कुर्वीत् छागदानं समाचरेत् ।
कृष्णां गां महिषीं दद्याच्छान्तिमाप्नोत्यसंशयम् ॥ ३१ ॥

30-31 : If Rahu is posited with the lords of the 7th or the 2nd house, there will be the possibility of an early death, danger from snake etc. To mitigate the evil effects, the hymns of "Durga Saptashanti" or Durga's Mantras be recited and goat be given in charity. The donation of black cow, buffalo (female) willundoubtedly make the sufferings subdued or ineffective.

सूर्यस्यान्तर्गते जीवे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे मित्रस्य वर्गस्थे विवाहं राजदर्शनम् ॥ ३२ ॥

धनधान्यादिलाभं च पुत्रलाभं महत्सुखम् ।
महाराजप्रसादेन इष्टकार्यार्थलाभकृत् ॥ ३३ ॥

ब्राह्मणप्रियसम्मानं प्रियवस्त्रादिलाभकृत् ॥ ३३½ ॥

32-33½: If Jupiter is placed in an Angle or Trine or in its exaltation sign or in a friendly Vargas, the Antardasa will bring marriage (if native is not already married) and pleasure of meeting with the king (Senior authorities of the Government), gain of wealth and food grains, child birth, fulfilment of desires with the blessings of the king, love and affection from the scholars and learneds; gain of choiced clothes.

भाग्यकर्माधिपवशाद्राज्यलाभं वदेद् द्विज ! ॥ ३४ ॥

नरवाहनयोगश्च स्थानाधिक्यं महत्सुखम् ।
दायेशाच्छुभराशिस्थे भाग्यवृद्धिः सुखावहा ॥ ३५ ॥

दानधर्मक्रियायुक्तो देवताराधनप्रियः ।
गुरुभक्तिर्मन:सिद्धिः पुण्यकर्मादिसंग्रहः ॥ ३६. ॥

34-36: O-Brahmin! The results of Jupiter being the lord of the 9th or the 10th house will be attainment of Kingdom, Palanquin (costly vehicles), gain of property, abundant happiness etc. Placement of Jupiter in the auspicious house from the lord of Mahadasa will cause rise in fortune, involvement in good deeds, worship of deity, preceptor, mental contentments, religious activities etc.

Saturn aspects Jupiter's sign sagittarius while Jupiter aspects Saturn's sign. Aquarius (Angle and Trine signs) and thus a firm connection between the two gets developed. 37-39: If Jupiter is posited at the 6th or the 8th place from the Mahadasa lord, debilitated or conjunct with the malefic planets, its Antardasa will result in sufferings of wife and children, some bodily disease and will also experience intensive fear. It will also cause persecution by the King (Government), loss of some dear ones and precious things and also unserupulously acquisition of assets, sufferings from a chronic disease, mental agony etc. In order to ward off such evil effects of Jupiter, donation of gold, cow (Kapila) and recitation of Mantras of devoted deity (Ishta Devta) be resorted to which will bring sound health.

सूर्यस्यान्तर्गते मन्दे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
शत्रुनाशो महत्सौख्यं स्वल्पधान्यार्थलाभकृत् ॥ ४० ॥

विवाहादिसुकार्यञ्च गृहे तस्य शुभावहम् ।

गृहे कल्याणसम्पत्तिर्विवाहादिषु सत्क्रिया ।

40-42 : If Saturn is posited in the Angle or Trine, the Mahadasa of the Sun and Antardasa of Saturn will produce results like destruction of enemies, abundant happiness, gain of wealth and food grains (in a low profile). There will be marriage festivities and other auspicious functions in the native's house. Saturn if acquires position of exaltation or own sign or in the company of a friendly planet, there will be welfare activities at home, accretion of assets, recognition from the king, attainments of national prominence, wealth, different kinds of garments etc.

भुक्त्यादौ मित्रहानिःस्यान्मध्ये किञ्चित्सुखावहम् ।
अन्ते क्लेशकरं चैव नीचे तेषां तथैव च ॥ ४५ ॥

पितृमातृवियोगश्च गमनागमनं तथा ।

45-47: In the commencement of the Antardasa, enmity with the friends, in the middle of the Dasa, a little bit of comfort, and towards the end of the Dasa, conflicts will be the results of debilitated Saturn. Besides, there will be grief of parents and a good amount of travelling. Saturn, if acquires the lordship of the 2nd or the 7th house, early death will be feared. To mitigate these ill effects, one should donate black cow, buffalo (female), goat in charity and undertake the Japa of Mrityunjaya. With these acts of seeking propitiation, happiness and prosperity could be restored.

सूर्यास्यान्तर्गते सौम्ये स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगेऽपि वा ।
केन्द्र त्रिकोणलाभस्थे बुधे वर्गबलैर्युते ॥ ४८ ॥

पुण्यतीर्थफलावाप्तिर्गृहे गोधनसंकुलम् ॥ ४९ ½ ॥

48-49½: The position of Mercury in the exaltation or own sign, in the Angle, the Trine, in auspicious Vargas or strong in Shadabala will render good results like benefits from the King (State), high degree of enthusiasm, happiness from wife and children, blessings of the King (authority) acquisition of vehicle, ornaments, clothes, pilgrimage to temples and shrines and comfort of house with plenty of cattle and food etc; in the Antardasa of Mercury and Mahadasa of the Sun.

भाग्यलाभाधिपैर्युक्ते लाभवृद्धिकरो भवेत् ॥ ५० ॥

भाग्यपंचमकर्मस्थे सन्मानो भवति ध्रुवम् ।
सुकर्मधर्मबुद्धिश्च गुरुदेवद्विजार्चनम् ॥ ५१ ॥

धनधान्यादिसंयुक्तो विवाहः पुत्रसम्भवः ॥ ५१/२ ॥

50-51½ : If Mercury is in conjunction with the lords of the 9th or the 11th house, it will enhance the profits. If such Mercury is posited in the 9th or the 5th or the 10th house, the native will be honoured and will indulge in pious deeds, develop profound religious thoughts, (perception) worship of preceptor, devoted deity and lord Bramha, accretion of wealth and food grains, possibility of marriage (if not married) and birth of child will be the results.

दायेशाच्छुभराशिस्थे सौम्ययुक्ते महत्सुखम् ॥ ५२ ॥

वैवाहिकं यज्ञकर्म दानधर्मजपादिकम् ।

52-53½: The placement of Mercury duly conjunct with the malefic planets in a good house from the lord of the Mahadasa (the Sun) will produce abundant happiness, marriage, Yugna (an act of worship), charity, recitation of Mantras (Japa) etc., letter of appreciation, adoption of alias name brings fame (becomes famous on account of some commendable work), sumptuous food, decent clothes, ornaments etc., and the native will have the heavenly comforts.

दायेशाद्रिपुरन्स्ये रिष्फगे नीचगेऽपि वा ॥ ५४ ॥

देहपीडा मनस्तापो दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ।
भुक्त्यादौ दुःखमाप्नोति मध्ये किञ्चित्सुखावहम् ॥ ५५ ॥

अन्ते तु राजभीतिश्च गमनागमनं तथा ।
द्वितीये द्यूननाथे तु देहजाड्यं ज्वरादिकम् ॥ ५६ ॥

विष्णुनामसहस्रं च ह्यन्नदानं च कारयेत् ।
रजतप्रतिमादानं कुर्यादारोग्यसिद्धये ॥ ५७ ॥

54-57 : If Mercury is placed in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house from the lord of the Mahadasa or in debilitation, in its Antardasa there will be body ailments, mental distress, sufferings to wife and children. The commencement of the Antardasa renders harmful results, the middle Dasa will bring some relief and the last part of the Dasa will cause fear of the King and travellings. Mecury, if acquires the lordship of the 2nd and the 7th house, the result will be body pains and diseases connected with the fever. Recitation of Vishnu Sahasarnama, pious donations of grains, silver idol will expiate good health.

सूर्यस्यान्तर्गते केतौ देहपीडा मनोव्यथा ।
अर्थव्ययं राजकोपं स्वजनादेरुपद्रवम् ॥ ५८ ॥

लग्नाधिपेन संयुक्ते आदौ सौख्यं धनागमम् ।
मध्ये तत्क्लेशमाप्नोति मृतवार्तागमं वदेत् ॥ ५९ ॥

58-59 : Antardasa of Ketu of the Mahadasa of the Sun attributes disease, mental conflicts, loss of wealth, wrath from the king, clash with friends. If Ketu is in conjunction with the Ascendant lord, in the beginning of the Antardasa, there will be some relief, trouble in the middle and news of a death in the end of the Antardasa.

अथाष्टमव्यये चैवं दायेशात्पापसंयुते ।
कपोलदन्तरोगश्च मूत्रकृच्छ्रस्य सम्भवः ॥ ६० ॥

स्थानविच्युतिरर्थस्य मित्रहानिः पितुर्मृतिः ।
विदेशगमनं चैव शत्रुपीडा महद्भयम् ॥ ६१ ॥

60-61 : Position of Ketu in the 8th or the 12th house from the lord of Mahadasa, will cause disease in the cheeks, teeth, urinary region etc., change of place, loss of wealth and friend, death of father, foriegn travel, distress through enemy, great fear will also take effect.

लग्नादुपचये केतौ योगकारकसंयुते ।
शुभांशे शुभवर्गे च शुभकर्मफलोदयः ॥ ६२ ॥

पुत्रदारादिसौख्यं च सन्तोषं प्रियवर्द्धनम् ।
विचित्रवस्त्रलाभश्च यशोवृद्धिः सुखावहा ॥ ६३ ॥

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा ह्यपमृत्युभयं वदेत् ।
दुर्गाजपं च कुर्वीत छागदानं सुखाप्तये ॥ ६४ ॥

62-64: If Ketuisplaced in the Upachaya houses (3, 6, 10, 11) or with the Yogkaraka planet or in good Vargas (Division), native will have good fortune and get happiness from wife and children, increase in the aquaintances with the contented persons, acquisition of exotic clothes, increase of reputation (fame) etc. If Ketu is the lord of the 7th or the 12th house fear of early death be predicted. Recitation of the Mantra of Goddess Durga, donation of goat in charity etc; will bring happiness.

सूर्यस्यान्तर्गते शुक्रे त्रिकोणे केन्द्रगेऽपि वा ।

चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभः स्याद्बहुधान्यधनादिकम् ।
उत्साहः कीर्तिसम्पत्तिर्नरवाहनसम्पदः ॥ ६८ ॥

65-68 : If Venus is posited in the Angle or Trine house, in exaltation, in friendly house or in auspicious Vargas, the result of the Antardasa of Venus in the Mahadasa of the Sun will give acquaintances with the women of taste, gain of consumable goods, travelling village to village (wandering place to place) meeting with Brahamin and the king (authority) exalted enthusiasm, bestowing of insignia of canopy type royal umbrella and "Chamer" (चामर), wealth and well being at home, preparation of meals with sweet every day, Facquisition of gems, like coral, pearl and clothes etc., gains from the animals, accretion of wealth and food grains, enthusiasm, raise in fame and prosperty, travel in palanquin (costly vehicle).

षष्ठाष्टमव्यये शुक्रे दायेशाद्बलवर्जिते ।
राजकोपो मनःक्लेशः पुत्रस्त्रीधननाशनम् ॥ ६९ ॥

भुक्त्यादौ मध्यमं मध्ये लाभ: शुभकरो भवेत् ।
अन्ते यशोनाशनं च स्थानभ्रंशमथापि वा ॥ ७० ॥

बन्धुद्वेषं वदेद् वापि स्वकुलाद् भोगनाशनम् ।
भार्गवे द्यूननाथे तु देहे जाड्यं रुजोभयम् ॥ ७१ ॥

रन्ध्ररिष्फसमायुक्ते ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं मृत्युञ्जयजपं चरेत् ॥ ७२ ॥

श्वेतां गां महिषीं दद्याद्रुद्रजाप्यं च कारयेत् ।
ततः शान्तिमवाप्नोति शंकरस्य प्रसादतः ॥ ७३ ॥

69-73 : In the Mahadasa of the Sun, if Venus is placed in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, or devoid of strength, the result of the Antardasa will be persecution by the King, mental conflicts, loss of wealth, wife or children etc. In the beginning of Dasa, the results will be of medium intensity; in the middle of the Dasa, native gains wealth and other auspicious effects; in the end of Dasa loss of fame, destruction of place, hatred from friends, loss of comforts etc. Venus being in the 7th house will inflict bodily pains and fear of some disease. Placement of Venus in the 8th or the 12th house will cause early death. In order to neutralize the ill effects, Mrityunjaya Mantras should be recited, pious donations of white cow or buffalo (female) and Lord Shiva Japa be performed. By undergoing penance of this kind, peace and tranquillity will prevail with the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Antardasa of Venus in the Sun Mahadasa: From 28.8.1991 to 27.8.1992

The native is serving in a chemical factory. In the birth chart the Sun is in the Ascendant and Venus is in the 12th from it. In the Antardasa of Venus, antisocial elements grabbed the possesion of his house unauthorisedly and in the same period he also lost his job and passed through such an agonising time that he kept on wandering from place to place aimlessly. His wife contracted cancer in the lower part of her abdomen (area signified by Venus). Venus is Karaka of wife.

In the Navamsa chart, Venus being the lord of the 6th house posited in the 3rd house and with the 8th lord Moon.
