57. RESULTS OF THE ANTARDASAS IN THE MAHADASA OF RAHU

कुलीरे वृश्चिके राहौ कन्यायां चापगेऽपि वा ।
तद्भुक्तौ राजसम्मानं वस्त्रवाहनभूषणम् ॥ १ ॥

व्यवसायात्फलाधिक्यं चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ।
प्रयाणं पश्चिमे भागे वाहनाम्बरलाभकृत् ॥ २ ॥

लग्नादुपचये राहौ शुभग्रहयुतेक्षिते ।
मित्रांशे तुंगभागांशे योगकारकसंयुते ॥ ३ ॥

राज्यलाभं महोत्साहं राजप्रीतिं शुभावहम् ।
करोति सुखसम्पत्तिं दारपुत्रादिवर्द्धनम् ॥ ४ ॥

1-4: Position of Rahu in Cancer, Scorpio or Sagittarius sign delivers, felicitation from the king, clothes, vehicles, ornaments, copious profits in the business; gains of animals and acquisition of clothes and vehicles during the visits to the West, in the Antardasa of Rahu.

Placement of Rahu in the Upachaya houses (3,6,10,11) from the Ascendant, having conjunction or aspects of auspicious planets or in the friendly Navamsa or exaltation sign, its Antardasa and also Mahadasa will bestow gain of kingdom, high degree of enthusiasm, affection of the king, auspiciousness, comforts from wife, feeling of exaltation due to increment in children, accretion of assets etc.

लग्नाष्टमे व्यये राहौ पापयुक्तेऽथ वीक्षिते ।
चौरादिव्रणपीडा च सर्वत्रैवं भवेद् द्विज ! ॥ ५ ॥

राजद्वारजनद्वेष इष्टबन्धुविनाशनम् ।
दारपुत्रादिपीडा च भवत्येव न संशयः ॥ ६ ॥

5-6 : If Rahu is posited in the 8th or the 12th house from the Ascendant, in its own Mahadasa and Antardasa, there will undoubtedly, be grief from theft, injury etc., conflicts with the administratives of the king; destruction of co-borns; trouble to wife and children.

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा सप्तमस्थानमाश्रिते ।
सदा रोगो महाकष्टं शान्तिं कुर्याद्यथाविधि ।
आरोग्यं सम्पदश्चैव भविष्यन्ति तदा द्विज ! ॥ ७ ॥

7 : Rahu be the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house or located in these houses, will cause perpetual disease and extensive distress. By undertaking worships in a pescribed manner, O Brahmin ! sound health and assets will be attained.

It is also a firm conviction of the learned astrologers, that since Rahu, has no base of its own, it acquires the characteristic of a planet in whose sign it is posited but at the same time, it also gives effect of the conjunct planets.

Whatever might be the position of Rahu, it does administer the effect of mental tension, irritation, callousness, lethargy, strife, obstacles in work, enmity, disappointments, depression etc. in its Antardasa.

However, depending upon its placement in the birth chart, the degree of intensity will vary. Let us take an example to bring home this point.

Example: 33

Data : Date of birth 8/9-10-1970; time of birth 5-02 hrs. (IST); Latitude 28°-43' (N); Longitude 77°-47' (E).

In the birth chart, Rahu is placed in Upachaya House (i.e. 6th), duly aspected by Mars and Jupiter and is also in its own Nakshatra Satbisha. The native completed medical education (M.B.B.S.). Although in the Antardasa and the Mahadasa of Rahu, which operated between 28-5-1991 and 2-2-1994, the native had good success in the education, he encountered series of difficulties in the period. He also faced disappointments, depression, hindrances etc. So much so, he reached to a stage where he was almost failing in the examination. Position of Rahu in the Upachaya house, both in the birth and Navamsa charts saved the situation and the native could ultimately achieve success.

In Chaturamsa, Rahu is at a benefic position i.e. in the 5th house duly aspected by the Moon. Saturn is in the 9th house. The disappointment in the education was on account of Rahu's aspects on Saturn and the Ascendant.

Here is another very interesting example of Rahu's Antardasa in. the Mahadasa of Rahu.

Example : 34

Data : Date of birth 15-7-1943; Time of birth 16-50 Hrs (IST). Latitude 28°-42' (N), Longitude 77⁰-41 (E)

Balance Dasa: Mercury 0 year - 5 months 10 days.

Rahu is in Cancer sign, in conjunction with Jupiter and located in the 9th house. In the beginning of the Antardasa of Rahu in the Mahadasa of Rahu, the native suddenly acquired huge wealth.

राहोरन्तर्गते जीवे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगे वापि तुंगस्वक्षांशगेऽपि वा ॥ ८ ॥

स्थानलाभं मनोधैर्यं शत्रुनाशं महत्सुखम् ।
राजप्रीतिकरं सौख्यं जनोऽतीव समश्नुते ॥ ९ ॥

दिने - दिने वृद्धिरपि सितपक्षे शशी यथा ।
वाहनादिधनं भूरि गृहे गोधनसंकुलम् ॥ १० ॥

नैर्ऋत्ये पश्चिमे भागे प्रयाणं राजदर्शनम् ।
युक्तकार्यार्थसिद्धिः स्यात् स्वदेशे पुनरेष्यति ॥ ११ ॥

उपकारो ब्राह्मणानां तीर्थयात्रादिकर्मणाम् ।
वाहनग्रामलाभश्च देवब्राह्मणपूजनम् ॥ १२ ॥

पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषो नित्यं मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ॥ १२½ ॥

8-12½ : If Jupiter is located in Angles, Trine, from the Ascendant, in exaltation or own sign; in own or exalted Navamsa, the Antardasa of Jupiter of the Mahadasa of Rahu will bring about the results like - acquisition of land; patience; decimation of enemy; abundant happiness, warmth towards king, progress like waxing Moon approaching Shukla Paksha; (full Moon), Vehicles; Wealth; accretion in the assets of animals at home. Undertaking journies in the West or South-East; meeting the king: accomplishment of ambitious plans; return to home country, helping Brahmins while on pilgrimage, acquiring a village; devotion to God and Brahmin, mental satisfaction over the festivity organised, on the birth of a child, meals with sweets, etc.

नीचे वाऽस्तंगते वापि षष्ठाष्टव्ययराशिगे ॥ १३ ॥

शत्रुक्षेत्रे पापयुक्ते धनहानिर्भविष्यति ।
कर्गविघ्नो भवेत्तस्य मानहानिश्च जायते ॥ १४ ॥

कलत्रपुत्रपीडा च हृद्रोगो राजकार्यकृत् ॥ १४½ ॥

13-14½ : If Jupiter is debilitated, combust or posited in Trik houses (6/8/12) and in inimical sign having conjunction or aspect with malefic planets, its Antardasa will cause loss of wealth, interruption in work, disrepute, trouble to wife and children, heart, entrusted with authority by the state etc.

दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा लाभे वा धनगेऽपि वा ॥ १५ ॥

दुश्चिक्ये बलसम्पूर्णे गृहक्षेत्रादिवृद्धिकृत् ।
भोजनाम्बर- पश्वादि-दानधर्मजपादिकम् ॥ १६ ॥

भुक्त्यन्ते राजकोपाच्च द्विमासं देहपीडनम् ।
ज्येष्ठभ्रातुर्विनाशश्च मातृपित्रादिपीडनम् ॥ १७ ॥

15-17 : Placement of strong Jupiter in Angle, Trine, in the 2nd or the 3rd house from the lord of the Mahadasa, its Antardasa will bestow additions of house, land etc; gain of wealth, clothes, and animals; inclination towards charity, religion, sipritual pursuits etc.

Trouble through the wrath of the king (Government); loss of elder brother, distress to parents etc. are the type of malefic results that will be felt in the last two months of the Antardasa.

दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रे वा रिःफे वा पापसंयुते ।
तद्भुक्तौ धनहानिः स्याद्देहपीडा भविष्यति ॥ १८ ॥

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ।
स्वर्णस्य प्रतिमादानं शिवपूजां च कारयेत् ॥ १९ ॥

श्रीशम्भोश्च प्रसादेन ग्रहस्तुष्टो द्विजोत्तम ! ।
देहारोग्यं प्रकुरुते शान्तिं कुर्याद्विचक्षणः ॥ २० ॥

18-20 : If Jupiter is posited in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house from the Mahadasa lord (Rahu) or in conjunction with the malefic planets, in its Antardasa, there will be loss of wealth and physical distress. In case Jupiter is the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house, an early death will cause.

For the alleviation of the ill effects of the planets, Lord Shiva be worshipped and Golden image be given in chairty which will appease the planets and sound health will be granted.

A very good example of benefic Jupiter is cited herewith, which will depict inheritance of huge property by the native from his mother's side in the Rahu's Mahadasa and in Jupiter's Antardasa.

Example - 35 :

Data : Date of birth 31/1-10-1966; Time of birth, 4-21 hrs IST Latitude 28°-43' (N); Longitude 77°-47' (E)

Balance Dasa: Moon 7 years - 3 months - 5 days

Jupiter Antardasa in Rahu's Mahadasa operated from 17-10 1983 to 11-3-1986.

Jupiter having acquired the lordship of the 4th and the 7th houses is located in the 11th house, in its sign of exaltation and is placed at Angle to Rahu, the lord of the Mahadasa. Although, Jupiter is the lord of the 7th house, its exaltation position is protecting the health of the native and as such, he did not suffer any kind of ailment in this period.

राहोरन्तर्गते मन्दे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
स्वोच्चे मूलत्रिकोणे वा दुश्चिक्ये लाभराशिगे ॥ २१ ॥

तद्भुक्तौ नृपतेः सेवा राजप्रीतिकरी शुभा ।
विवाहोत्सवकार्याणि कृत्वा पुण्यानि भूरिशः ॥ २२ ॥

आरामकरणे युक्तो तडागं कारयिष्यति ।
शूद्रप्रभुवशादिष्टलाभो गोधनसंग्रहः ॥ २३ ॥

प्रयाणं पश्चिमे भागे प्रभुमूलाद्धनक्षयः ।
देहालस्यं फलाल्पत्वं स्वदेशे पुनरेष्यति ॥ २४ ॥

21-24 : Placement of Saturn in Angle, Trine; sign of exaltation, Moolatrikona; in the 3rd or the 11th house will bring results such as, pleasure of serving the king, marriage festivity or other auspicious functions, development of garden and pond (water tank), accomplishment of the desired objectives of the Sudra King and accumulation of cows, visit to West and destruction of wealth denoted by the king, lethargy, depletion of income, visit back to home country, etc., in the Antardasa of Saturn of the Mahadasa of Rahu.

नीचारिक्षेत्रगे मन्दे रन्ध्रे वा व्ययगेऽपि वा ।
नीचारिराजभीतिश्च दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ॥ २५ ॥

आत्मबन्धुमनस्तापं दायादजनविग्रहम् ।
व्यवहारे च कलहमकस्माद्भूषणं लभेत् ॥ २६ ॥

25-26 : Should Saturn be in the sign of debilitation, in the enemy's sign, placed in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house or the conjunction with malefic planets, its Antardasa will cause hostility from menials, danger from the king, physical distress of wife and children, mental agony of the co-borns, conflict with the co-heir, complications and disputes in the business but there will be sudden gain of ornaments.

दायेशात्षष्ठरिष्फे वा रन्ध्रे वा पापसंयुते ।
हृद्रोगो मानहानिश्च विवाद: शत्रुपीडनम् ॥ २७ ॥

अन्यदेशादिसञ्चारो गुल्मवद्व्याधिभाग् भवेत् ।
कुभोजनं कोद्रवादि जातिदुःखाद्भयं भवेत् ॥ २८ ॥

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु ह्यपमृत्युर्भविष्यति ।
कृष्णां गां महिषीं दद्याद्दानेनारोग्यमादिशेत् ॥ २९ ॥

27-29: If the position of Saturn from the Mahadasa lord (Rahu) is at the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house and in conjunction with the malefic planets, the Antardasa of Saturn will produce heart ailments, disrepute, danger from the enemy, visits to other countries, disease of boils, bad food, fear of grief of the people from ones own caste. If Saturn is the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house, there will be untimely (early) death. During this time, charity of black cow or buffalo will bring sound health and alleviate the ill effects..

Saturn being the lord of the Ascendant, if posited in the 2nd or other Maraka house, it does not bring any kind of affliction to the native's body. However, if there is any other malefic influence, it many creat some health problems.

Saturn's position in the 2nd house bestow assets to be inherited by the descenders of the native. There results are more pronounced in the Ascendant of Capricorn. No doubt, native also accumulates assets in Sagittarius Ascendant, but this wealth is shared amongst the brothers, since Saturn takes over the lordship of the 3rd house in such a nativity.

If Saturn is in the sign of exaltation, in the Ascendant of Scorpio, such native purchases fixed assets in other places. In case of Taurus Ascendant, an exalted Saturn (in the 6th house) will harm the business (10th house). Auspicious Saturn, by and large, renders benefic results in Libra Ascendant.

We now analyse a horoscope of a person who achieved extra ordinary wealth, fixed assets and self marriage in the Antardasa of Saturn in the Mahadasa of Rahu.

Data : Date of birth: 29-5-1965; Time of birth, 23-24 hrs. (IST) Latitude 28°-30' (N); Longitude 77°-49' (E)

Balance Dasa: The Sun 4 years, 9 months, 5 days

In the birth chart, Saturn is placed in its Mooaltrikona house and is also at Angle to Rahu. The native inherited huge property from father's side which was immediately utilised in the purchase of agricultural land. He also got married in this period, though one alliance was got annulled in May 1994. For this, the debilitated position of Saturn and placement of Jupiter in the 12th house in the Navamsa chart are responsible. The sub period of the Saturn of the main period of Rahu was in operation between 11-4 -1992 and 15-2-1992.

Example: 37

Data : Date of birth 30-12-1959; Time of birth, 14-45 hrs. (IST) Latitude 29° 0 (N); Longitude 77°-1' (E).

Balance Dasa at birth : Venus 4 years, 7 months, 14 days.

In the birth chart, Saturn is posited in the 8th house with two malefic planets (the Sun, the Moon) and also having the lordship of the 10th house. As such, the native suffered heavy losses in his business and he had to change his profession. Native's son also died by drownings under mysterious conditions in the sub-period of Saturn of the main period of Rahu (from 19-9-1992 to 27-7-1995). The Kastha Phala of Saturn is 33.40 and Ishta Phala 1.84.

Although Saturn has the lordship of two auspicious houses (Yogakaraka), it is placed in a Trik house and its Ista Phala is also quite less. The 10th house represents 'work place' and the 9th house is also related to son (5th from 5th, and also having aspect of Rahu). Therefore, signification of both these houses have been affected in the Antardasa of Saturn.

राहोरन्तर्गते सौम्य भाग्ये वा स्वर्क्षगेऽपि वा ।
तुंगे वा केन्द्रराशिस्थे पुत्रे वा बलगेऽपि वा ॥ ३० ॥

राजयोगं प्रकुरुते गृहे कल्याणवर्द्धनम् ।
व्यापारेण धनप्राप्तिर्विद्यावाहनमुत्तमम् ॥ ३१ ॥

विवाहोत्सवकार्याणि चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभकृत् ।
सौम्यमासे महत्सौख्यं स्ववारे राजदर्शनम् ॥ ३२ ॥

सुगन्धपुष्पशय्यादि स्त्रीसौख्यं चातिशोभनम् ||३२| ।
महाराजप्रसादेन धनलाभो महद्यशः ॥ ३३ ॥

30-33 : If Mercury is strong and posited in the 9th house, own sign, exalted or in Angle, it delivers results of Rajayoga in its Antardasa and brings auspicious occasion at home, gain of wealth in the business, high education, decent vehicle, marriage ceremonies, profit of animals and in the month of Mercury, excessive pleasure, in Mercury's day, meeting with the king, bed of fragrant flowers (comfort) etc., woman's comforts will be more specific and native acquires high reputation and huge profits with the blessings of the king.

दायेशात्केन्द्रलाभे वा दुश्चिक्ये भाग्यकर्मगे ।
देहारोग्यं हृदुत्साह इष्टसिद्धिः सुखावहा ॥ ३४ ॥

पुण्यश्लोकादिकीर्तिश्च पुराणश्रवणादिकम् ।
विवाहो यज्ञदीक्षा च दानधर्मदयादिकम् ॥ ३५ ॥

34-35: Position of Mercury in the 11th, the 3rd, Angle or Trine house from the Mahadasa lord (Rahu), its (Mercury) Antardasa will attribute, sound health, exultation in heart, happiness over the accomplishment of the desired objectives, showers of praises through hymns of Shlokas (religious compositions) and attend discourses on "Puranas" (ancient ethics); marriages; iniciation of oblation (यज्ञ दीक्षा), charity, evocative of religious thoughts and sympathetic feelings.

षष्ठाष्टमव्यये सौम्ये मन्देनापि युतेक्षिते ।
दायेशात्षष्ठरिःफे वा रन्ध्रे वा पापसंयुते ॥ ३६ ॥

देवब्राह्मणनिन्दा च भोगभाग्यविवर्जितः ।
सत्यहीनश्च दुर्बुद्धिश्चौराहिनृपपीडनम् ॥ ३७ ॥

अकस्मात्कलहश्चैव गुरुपुत्रादिनाशनम् ।
अर्थव्ययो राजकोपो दारपुत्रादिपीडनम् ॥ ३८ ॥

36-38: Mercury having its placement in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house and is also combined with or aspected by Saturn or in conjunction with the malefic planets in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house from the lord of the Mahadasa, will give inauspicious results like, vilification of deities and Brahmins (priests), depriciation in food and fortune, loss through speaking truth, getting stupid (foolish), danger from thieves, snakes and the king; picking up quarrels without any cause; loss of preceptor's son (गुरु पुत्र); reprimand by the king; anguish of wife and children etc.

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा ह्यपमृत्युभयं वदेत् ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं विष्णुसाहस्रकं जपेत् ॥ ३९ ॥

39 : If Mercury is the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house from the Ascendant, it may cause fear of an untimely death. Recitation of "Vishnu Sahasranama" be resorted to, in order to neutralize the ill effects.

Example: 38

Data : Date of birth 23-8-1961; Time of birth, 14-4 hrs IST Latitude, 28°-46' (N); Longitude, 77⁰-4' (E).

Balance of Dasa at birth, Sun 5 years, 5 months, 3 days. Antardasa of Mercury in the Mahadasa of Rahu: From 28.12.1991 To 16.7.1994.

In the birth chart Mercury is placed in the 9th house along with the Sun (lord of the 9th house) and Rahu is also in the Sun's Nakshatra (Poorva Phalguni) since Mercury is the lord of the Angle house (10th), it forms a Yogakaraka combination with the Sun. Although Mercury is combust, still the native made an excellent progress in earning his livelihood during the Antardasa of the Mercury. The Dashamsa chart needs to be analysed to confirm the results. In this chart, Mercury is located in the 2nd house forming an exchange with Saturn, posited in the 10th house. Therefore, connection between the income house and the profession house is responsible in delivering such beneficial results in the Antardasa of Mercury.

राहोरन्तर्गते केतौ भ्रमणं राजतो भयम् ।
वातज्वरादिरोगश्च चतुष्पाज्जीवहानिकृत् ॥ ४० ॥

अष्टमाधिसंयुक्ते देहजाड्यं मनोव्यथा ।
शुभयुक्ते शुभैर्दृष्टे देहसौख्यं धनागमः ।
राजसम्मानभूषाप्तिर्गृहे शुभकरो भवेत् ॥ ४१ ॥

40-41: The Antardasa of Ketu in the Mahadasa of Rahu will produce results such as; travellings, fear of the king (Government), gastric diseases, fever and loss of animals etc. If Ketu is in conjunction with the lord of the 8th house, there will be pains and anguish. Aspect or association of Ketu with the auspicious planets brings sound health, wealth, felicitation from the king, ornaments and festivity at home.

लग्नाधिपेन सम्बन्धे इष्टसिद्धिः सुखावहा ।
लग्नाधिपसमायुक्ते लाभो वा भवति ध्रुवम् ॥ ४२ ॥

चतुष्पाज्जीवलाभ: स्यात्केन्द्रे वाथ त्रिकोणगे ॥ ४२½ ॥

42-42½: Association of Ketu with the lord of the Ascendant (aspect etc.) will cause success in the desired objectives and happiness. If Yoga (combination) with the lord of the Ascendant is formed, there will be certain gain of wealth. Position of Ketu in Angle or Trine will increase the number of animals.

रन्ध्रस्थानगते केतौ व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ॥ ४३ ॥

तद्भुक्तौ बहुरोग: स्याच्चोराहिव्रणपीडनम ।
पितृमातृवियोगश्च भातृद्वेषो मनोरुजा ॥ ४४ ॥

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहबाधा भविष्यति ।
तद्दोषपरिहारार्थं छागदानं च कारयेत् ॥ ४५ ॥

43-45 : A weak Ketu, if posited in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, its Antardasa will produce various kind of diseases, sufferings from thieves, serpents, injuries, grief of mother and father, conflict with the brothers, anguish etc. Ketu being the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house will cause bodily sufferings. Charity of goats, will ward off the ill effects.

राहोरन्तर्गते शुक्रे लग्नात्केन्द्रत्रिकोणगे ।
लाभे वा बलसंयुक्ते योगप्राबल्यमादिशेत् ॥ ४६ ॥

विप्रमूलाद्धनप्राप्तिर्गोमहिष्यादि-लाभकृत् ।
पुत्रोत्सवादिसन्तोषो गृहे कल्याणसम्भवः ॥ ४७ ॥

सम्मानं राजसम्मानं राज्यलाभो महत्सुखम् ॥ ४७½ ॥

46-47½: If Venus acquires strength by being in Angle, Trine or in the 11th house and is also a Yogkaraka, its Antardasa will produce wealth at the behest of Brahmins; gain of cow and buffalo; festivity on child's birth, happiness at home; attainment of felicitation from the society and the king, gain from the state (king) and have exceeding comforts etc.

स्वोच्चे वा स्वर्क्षगे वापि तुंगांशे स्वांशगेऽपि वा ॥ ४८ ॥

नूतनं गृहनिर्माणं नित्ये मिष्ठान्नभोजनम् ।
कलत्रपुत्रविभवं मित्रसंग: सुभोजनम् ॥ ४९ ॥

अन्नदानं प्रियं नित्यं दानधर्मादिसंग्रहः ।
महाराजप्रसादेन वाहनाम्बरभूषणम् ॥ ५० ॥

व्यवसायात्फलाधिक्यं विवाहो मौञ्जिबन्धनम् ॥ ५०½ ॥

48-50½: If Venus is placed in its own or exaltation sign or in own Navamsa, construction of a new house; consumption of sweets everyday; improvement in the luxuries of wife and children; throwing parties to friends, charity of choiced food; increasing level of daily donation and religious ceremonies; acquition of conveyance, clothes and ornaments at the behest of the king; high degree of profits in the business; festivity of marriage and ceremonies before sending child to Guru (teacher) for education (admission in the school) etc. will be the results of the Antardasa of Venus.

षष्ठाष्टमव्यये शुक्रे नीचे शत्रुगृहे स्थिते ॥ ५१ ॥

मन्दारफणिसंयुक्ते तद्भुक्तौ रोगमादिशेत् ।
अकस्मात्कलहं चैव पितृपुत्रवियोगकृत् ॥ ५२ ॥

स्वबन्धुजनहानिश्च सर्वत्र जनपीडनम् ।
दायादकलहश्चैव स्वप्रभोः स्वस्य मृत्युकृत् ॥ ५३ ॥

कलत्रपुत्रमीडा च शूलरोगादिसम्भवः ॥ ५३½ ॥

51-53½: Placement of Venus in the Trik houses (6, 8, 12) in the sign of debilitation, inimical sign, associated with Saturn, Mars or Rahu, its Antardasa will deliver results like, contracting disease; quarrel without cause, grief of father and children, loss of co-born, wide spread loss of human lives being every where; disputes over litigation, own and employer's death; sufferings of wife and children, disease like stomach disorder etc.

दायेशात्केन्द्रराशिस्थे त्रिकोणे वा समन्विते ॥ ५४ ॥

लाभे वा कर्मराशिस्थे क्षेत्रपालमहत्सुखम् ।
सुगन्धवस्त्रशय्यादि गानवाद्यसुखं भवेत् ॥ ५५ ॥

छत्रचामरभूषाप्तिः प्रियवस्तुसमन्विता ॥ ५५½ ॥

54-55 : If Venus is located at Angle, Trine or the 11th or 10th house; or in an auspicious sign, from the lord of the Mahadasa, it will cause extreme happiness from the administrator of the area; scented clothes, bed (comforts) etc., pleasure of song and music; acquisition of canopy (ceremonious umbrella - a symbol of rank), ornaments, choiced things etc.

दायेशाद्रपुरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा पापसंयुते ॥ ५६ ॥

विप्राहि-नृप - चौरादि-मूत्रकृच्छ्रान्महद्भयम् ।
प्रमेहाद्रौधिरो रोगः कुत्सितान्नं शिरोव्यथा ॥ ५७ ॥

कारागृहप्रवेशश्च राजदण्डाद्धनक्षयः ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे वा दारपुत्रादिनाशनम् ॥ ५८ ॥

आत्मपीडा भयं चैव ह्यपमृत्युभयं भवेत् ।
दुर्गा- लक्ष्मीजपं कुर्यात् त्ततः सुखमवाप्नुयात् ॥ ५९ ॥

56-59 : Placement of Venus at Trik houses (6,8,12) from the lord of the Mahadasa (Rahu) duly conjunct with the malefic planets, its Antardasa will cause great fear of Brahmins, king, serpents, thieves, urinary diseases; diabetes, biood infection etc., insipid food, mental agony; loss of wealth due to imprisonment, persecution by the king (Government). If Venus is the lords of the 2nd or the 7th house, it will bring distress to wife and children; danger of self, sickness or premature death.

Worship of Goddess Durga or Laxami will bestow happiness and prosperity.

Balance Dasa of the Moon : 0 yr, 5 months, 16 days. Antardasa of Venus of the Mahadasa was from 26-6-1990 to 25-6-1993.

In the birth chart, Venus is the lord of the 2nd and the 7th and is posited in its own sign with the Moon (exalted) and Saturn (friend of Venus). Shadabala of Venus is 6.90 Rupa which is more then the required strength of 5.50 Rupa. Jupiter lords of the 9th house throwing auspicious aspects. 60-61½: If the Sun is placed in the sign of exaltation, own sign, Angle, Trine, in the 11th house, own or exallted Navamsa or aspected by the auspicious planets, the Antardasa of the Sun in the Mahadasa of Rahu will bestow wealth and prosperity with the blessing of the king; temperate but pleasurable recognition, administrative head of small villages, moderate gains etc.

भाग्यलग्नेशसंयुक्ते कर्मेशेन निरीक्षिते ॥ ६२ ॥

राजाश्रयो महाकीर्तिविदेशगमनं तथा ।
देशाधिपत्ययोगश्च गजाश्वाम्बरभूषणम् ॥ ६३ ॥

मनोऽभीष्टप्रदानं च पुत्रकल्याणसम्भवम् ॥ ६३½ ॥

62-63½: If the Sun is in conjunction with the lords of the 9th and Ascendant and aspected by the lord of the 10th house, there will be recognition from the king, high reputation, foreign travellings, supremacy over the country. Acquition of elephants, horses, clothes, ornaments etc. fulfillment of desired plans and welfare of child are the kind of auspicious effects obtained in this period.

दायेशाद्रिःफरन्ध्रस्थे षष्ठे वा नीचगेऽपि वा ॥ ६४ ॥

ज्वरातिसाररोगश्च कलहो राजविग्रहः ।
प्रयाणं शत्रुवृद्धिश्च नृपचौराग्निपीडनम् ॥ ६५ ॥

64-65 : Placement of the Sun from the lord of the Mahadasa at the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house and in debilitation will ascribe results like fever, dysentry, quarrel, confrontation with the king (Government-Authority); travelling, increase of enemies, sufferings through the king, thieves, fire etc.

दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा दुश्चिक्ये लाभगेऽपि वा ।
विदेशे राजसम्मानं कल्याणं च शुभावहम् ॥ ६६ ॥

66: Placement of the Sun in Angle, Trine, the 3rd house, the 11th house positions from the lords of the Mahadasa will give effect of royal reception in the foreign countries, prosperity and auspiciousness.

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु महारोगो भविष्यति ।
सूर्यप्रणामं शान्तिं च कुर्यादारोग्यसम्भवाम् ॥ ६७ ॥

67 : Should the Sun be the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house, its Antardasa, will cause serious disease. In order to mellow down the evil effects, worship of the Sun should be resorted to, which will bestow sound health, pleasant nature.

राहोरन्तर्गते चन्द्रे स्वक्षेत्रे स्वोच्चगेऽपि वा ।
केन्द्रत्रिकोणलाभे वा मित्रर्दो शुभसंयुते ॥ ६८ ॥

राजत्वं राजपूज्यत्वं धनार्थं धनलाभकृत् ।
आरोग्यं भूषणं चैव मित्रस्त्रीपुत्रसम्पदः ॥ ६९ ॥

पूर्णे चन्द्रे फलं पूर्णं राजप्रीत्या शुभावहम् ।
अश्ववाहनलाभः स्याद् गृहक्षेत्रादिवृद्धिकृत् ॥ ७० ॥

68-70 : During the Antardasa of the Moon, in the Mahadasa of Rahu, if the Moon is in its own or exalted sign in Angle, Trine or in the 11th house or in the friendly sign, there will be gains through the king (Government), lucrative profits, sound health, ornaments; happiness from friends, wife and children; benefit from horses, vehicles; accretion of houses and land; king's recognition etc. The effects will be full during the bright Moon.

दायेशात्सुखभाग्यस्थे केन्द्रे वा लाभगेऽपि वा ।
लक्ष्मीकटाक्षचिहानि गृहे कल्याणसम्भवः ॥ ७१ ॥

सर्वकार्यसिद्धिः स्याद्धनधान्यसुखावहा ।
सत्कीर्तिलाभसम्मानं देव्याराधनमाचरेत् ॥ ७२ ॥

71-72 : Placement of the Moon at the 4th, the 9th or Angle on, the 11th house from the lord of the Mahadasa will bestow feeling of presence of Goddess Laxami and congenial environment at home, success in all ventures, acquisition of wealth, prosperity, high reputation, gains, recognition, inclination towards worship of deity etc.

दायेशात्षष्ठरन्ध्रस्थे व्यये वा बलवर्जिते ।
पिशाचक्षुद्रव्याघ्राद्यैर्गृहक्षेत्रार्थनाशनम् ॥ ७३ ॥

मार्गे चौरभयं चैव व्रणाधिक्य महोदयम् ।
द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु अपमृत्युस्तदा भवेत् ॥ ७४ ॥

श्वेतां गां महिषीं दद्याद् विप्रायारोग्यसिद्धये ।
ततः सौख्यमवाप्नोति चन्द्रग्रहप्रसादतः ॥ ७५ ॥

73-75 : If the weak Moon is placed in the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house, it will cause fear of evil spirits, tiger, other ferocious animals; loss of house and agricultural fields. Fear of theft during journey, deep injury and other serious diseases will also get erupted.

If the Moon be the lord of the 2nd on the 7th house, premature death may cause. Donation of white cow and buffalo for Brahmins will mitigate the ill effects and bestow sound health and happiness with the blessings of the Moon.

वधुविनाशः कलहो मनोरुजा कृषिक्रिया वित्तपशुप्रजाक्षयः ।
सुहृद्विपतिः सलिलाद्भयं भवे द्विधौ दशा भक्तिरि देवविद्विषः ॥

Meaning thereby that in the Mahadasa of Rahu and the Antardasa of the Moon, there will be loss of wife; quarrel with the people, mental distress; misfortune befall on friends; danger from water; loss of crops, wealth, animals and children.

The underlying idea of citing this stanza from the other classical works on Astrology is, that one should analyse the effects of this Antardasa with great caution, because this sub-period does not pass through smoothly and without giving any trouble.

राहोरर्न्गते भौमे लग्नाल्लाभत्रिकोणगे ।
केन्द्रे वा शुभसंयुक्ते स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रगेऽपि वा ॥ ७६ ॥

नष्टराज्यधनप्राप्तिर्गृहक्षेत्राभिवृद्धिकृत् ।
इष्टदेवप्रसादेन सन्तानसुखभाग्भवेत् ॥ ७७ ॥

क्षिप्रभोज्यान्महत्सौख्यं भूषणाश्वाम्बरादिकृत् ॥ ७७½ ॥

76-77½: During the Antardasa of Mars of the Rahu's Mahadasa and if Mars is placed at the 11th, Trine, Angle, from the Ascendant, in exaltation or own sign and is in conjunction with the benefic planets, retrieval of lost kingdom, expansion of house and and land, comfort of children due to the blessings of the devoted deity, sumptuous food, ornaments, horses, clothes etc. will be the auspicious results.

दायेशात्केन्द्रकोणे वा दुश्चिक्ये लाभगेऽपि वा ॥ ७८ ॥

रक्तवस्त्रादिलाभ: स्यात्प्रयाणं राजदर्शनम् ।
पुत्रवर्गेषु कल्याणं स्वप्रभोश्च महत्सुखम् ॥ ७९ ॥

सेनापत्यं महोत्साहो भ्रातृवर्गधनागमः ॥ ७९½ ॥

78-79½ : Placement of Mars at Angle, Trine, the 3rd, the 11th house from the lord of Mahadasa (Rahu), there will be gain of red clothes, journey, meeting with the king; prosperity of children; abundant goodness from the God (deity), exultation on attaining the post of the Army commander, profit through co-borns etc.

दायेशाद्रन्ध्ररिःफे वा षष्ठे पापसमन्विते ॥ ८० ॥

पुत्रदारादिहानिश्च सोदराणां च पीडनम् ।
स्थानभ्रंशो बन्धुवर्गदारपुत्रविरोधनम् ॥ ८१ ॥

चौराहिव्रणभीतिश्च स्वदेहस्य च पीडनम् ।
आदौ क्लेशकरं चैव मध्यान्ते सौख्यमाप्नुयात् ॥ ८२ ॥

80-82 : Position of Mars at the 6th, the 8th or the 12th house with malefic planets from the lord of the Mahadasa will cause effects like distress to children, wife, brothers, destruction of house (place), confrontation with co-borns, wife or children, danger of theft, serpents, injury, bodily pains etc; the beginning of the Antardasa will give deep sufferings while the middle of the Dasa will render comforts.

द्वितीयद्यूननाथे तु देहालस्यं महद्भयम् ।
अनड्वाहं च गां दद्यादारोग्यसुखलब्धये ॥ ८३ ॥

83 : Mars being the lord of the 2nd or the 7th house will cause lethargy and great danger of early death. Charity of bull, food will mitigate the evil effects.

Mars in the Mahadasa of Rahu with Mars in the 9th house is given below:

Data : Date of birth, 2-11-1954; Time of birth, 18-30 hrs. (IST). Latitude 28°-50' (N); Longitude 78°-45' (E).

The native received a very big export order in this period which operated from 21.11.1992 to 9.12.1993, and was followed by many more orders but in the Antardasa of Saturn in the Mahadasa of Rahu, the condition of the business was rather bad.

Mars the lord of the 7th (Business) and the 12th house (export) and is posited in the 9th house (fortune) is in exaltation. In Navamsa chart, Mars having been located in the 4th house, is casting aspect on the 9th house. The Dashamsa will further confirm the position.

In Dashama, Mars is again posited in its sign of exaltation in the 12th house. On account of connection of the 12th house of the birth and Dashamsa charts and also the business house, the export business could get greater degree of acceleration thereby yielding sizable amount of profits in the sub-period of Mars in the Main, Dasa of Rahu.
